PERSONS WANTED

Auckland. 22nd October last, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Harriett Esther Adelaide Fox, 39 Hillsborough Road, Onehunga, Fred Fox, age fifty-two, height 5 ft. 10 in., road contractor, native of England, stout build, fresh complexion, light hfowi/hair, blue eyes ; neatly dressed. m/m>fay Auckland.- —23rd' October lust, for false pretences, G. Richardson (name probably fictitious), age about forty, heigh* about 5 ft. 7 in., strong build, fresh complexion ; dressed in a light suit and light felt hat; well spoken ; smart appearance. Accused obtained £8 15s. cash from James Lloyd Mack, 344 Queen Street, by means of a valueless cheque for £lO on the National Bank of New Zealand, Auckland, which he tendered in payment for a pair of trousers for which he was measured. No warrant.

Auckland. —26th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for two months in default of paying £25 arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his child, Henry william Pay, age fifty-one, height 5 ft. 10 in., farmer, native of New Zealand, medium build, ruddy complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, scar on chin and on neck. Auckland.— l7th October last, on warrant for deserting from the s.s. “ Hertford,” Henry Galbraith, age twentyfour, height 5 ft. 9 in., marine engineer, native of Scotland, sandy hair.

Auckland. —19th October last, on warrant for a breach of his probation (Crimes Amendment Act, 1910), Donald Alexander McKenzie, alias Ronald Keir Duncan, referred to in Police Gazette, 1936, page 482, and Photographs, 1935, page 15. Auckland. —2lst October last, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife and children, Daniel Carline, age forty-eight, height 6 ft. 2§ in., bricklayer, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, hair turning grey, blue eyes, large nose, square ears. Arrears to 13th October last, £34 10s. Rotorua. ultimo, on warrant for false pretences, F. Thompson (name probably fictitious), age about twentyseven, height about 5 ft. 10 in., native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion and hair, light-blue shifty eyes ; dressed in a light-grey double-breasted sports suit, size 5, and light-coloured felt hat. Accused obtained a light-grey double-breasted suit/ size 5, a pair of black shoes, and other articles of clothing; value, £5 Is., and a cheque for £l4 13s. 10d., from Alfred Heber Caudwell, men’s outfitter, Tutanekai Street, by means of a valueless cheque for £l9 14s. lOd. on the Bank of Australasia, Rotorua, No. 1344, payable to F. Thompson and signed A. B. Murrell. This cheque was from the cheque-book of Alexander Murray Isdale, and when it was lost or stolen it contained seven cheque forms — 1344 to 1350, three of which have been issued in Rotorua by a man of the description given. The accused may be identical with Ulric Ralph Catton, referred to in Police Gazette, 1924, page "552, who" was on Sunday, 22nd ultimo, in the room occupied by the owner of the missing cheque-book. Another suspect is George James Cullen, referred to in Police Gazette, 1936, page 77, and Photographs, 1928, page 38. Arrears to 12th October last, £l7.

Palmerston North. —11th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for one month in default of paying £9 11s. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, of whom Gloria Constance Shaw is the mother, Henry White, age , about twenty-six, height 6 ft., labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, brown hair, hazel eyes, aquiline nose, good teeth ; speaks slowly with slight impediment in speech; competes in wood-chopping contests ; a keen Rugby football player.
