PERSONS WANTED.

Auckland. —12th instant, for assault with intent to commit rape, Wan (name unknown), age between twenty and thirtyfive, height about 5 ft. 6 in., slight build, may have dark hair and thin face. About 7.30 p.m. on above date Mary Price, matron, St. Cuthbert’s College, Epsom, who was alone in her quarters at the college, opened the front door in response to a knock. Accused, who was at the door not wearing trousers and indecently exposing himself, forced his way into the hall, severely assaulted Miss Price with his clenched fists, and attempted to rape her. Auckland. —During February last, for theft of £7 10s., the property of Herbert Johnson, 78 Albert Street — (1) Alexander Johnston Macßae, referred to in Police Gazette, 1935, page 707, and Photographs, 1925, page 20 ; well dressed in a dark tweed suit, light-coloured felt hat with turned-up brim, and brown shoes ; he is believed to have gone to Australia ; and (2) Wan (name unknown), age about forty, height about 5 ft. 6 in., stout build, dark complexion and hair, full face ; well dressed in blue tweed suit, dark-coloured felt hat, black shoes. Two men induced complainant to give them £7 10s. which they said they would bajik for him. He identified the photograph of Macßae as that of one of the men. No warrant. <£jul //3? /A Q

Auckland. l7th instant, on warrant tor tailing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Robert Charles Heron, age about thirty-nine, height 5 ft. 9| in., meat-buyer, native of New Zealand, strong build, fair complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, right arm deformed, scar at base of left thumb. Invercargill. sth instant, on warrant for forgery, Charles Robert Buchanan, referred to in Police Gazette, 1936, page 128, and Photographs, page 42. While staying with William John Harris, farmer, Tuatapere, he stole from the latter’s cheque-book a cheque to which he forged Harris’s signature, and had it cashed at Begg’s music shop, Otautau. The cheque was drawn for £5. He is in possession of a black three-seater T model Ford motor-car, registration No. 53-507. Breaches of Unemployment Act.
