Auckland. — ultimo, on warrant of commitment to New Plymouth Prison for one month in default of paying £lO arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Violet Blanche Rhind, Ernest Rhine], age fifty-six, height 5 ft. 9J in., wharf labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, fair complexion, grey hair, small grey eyes, scar on right cheek, lisps slightly, steady gait, good appearance. Auckland. — Harold Jamieson, failing to maintain: The Wellington police have ascertained that he left this Dominion for Australia on the 21st February last. (See Police Gazette, 1936, page 315.)

Auckland. —11th May last, that he may be interviewed regarding his driving a motor-car without lights at 6.25 p.m. Peter Rudolph Barbarich, age nineteen, height about 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, dark hair, brown eyes, scar on one upper arm ; usually dressed in a light-grey check worsted suit, heavy brown overcoat, and tan shoes (no Irak). . . ,

Auckland. —19th ultimo, on warrant for permitting premises in Grey’s Avenue to be used for smoking opium, MOW Wong, age thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 6 in., gardener, native of China, medium build, sallow complexion, dark hair, brown eyes, scar at left corner of mouth. Auckland.— April last, for theft of a gentlemen’s bicycle (recovered), value £2 10s., the property of Rudolph Gunstren, farmer, Dairy Flat, Waitemata, Charles C. Gable (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-seven, height about 5 ft. 5 in., labourer, native of England, stout build, ruddy complexion, thin features; untidily dressed in a greyish-brown suit and felt hat. The bicycle was stolen from 35 Albert Street and sold to a second-hand dealer. No warrant.

Kerepeehi. —2sth ultimo, for a breach of his probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), Phillip Hoffman, referred to in Police Gazette, 1935, page 273. He has failed to report to a Probation Officer, and his arrest is desired.

Matamata. —l9th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for seven days in default of paying £1 Bs. balance of fine and costs for a breach of the Stamp Duties Act, George Sands, canvasser. /

Auckland. 2oth April last, for theft of a gentlemen’s bicycle (recovered), value £4, the property of Jack Wilfred Partridge, Albert J. Barr (name probably fictitious), age twenty-seven, height 5 ft. 5 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, pale complexion, long brown hair, thin face, sunken cheeks; shabbily dressed and was wearing a blanket overcoat. The bicycle was stolen from Chancery Street and sold at a second-hand shop. No warrant.

Whakatane. —12th May last, on four warrants of commitment to Auckland Prison for two months in default of paying £l3 fines and costs for theft and false pretences, James Patrick O’Brien, referred to in Police Gazette, 1936, page 259, and Photographs, 1933, page 62. He is also to be interviewed regarding £53 11s. sd. due to the Mental Hospitals Depart for maintenance of his wife. /,/*3 > Oaaw'M

Gisborne.l9th May last, on two warrants of commitment to Gisborne Prison for three days and twenty-four hours in default of paying £2 14s. fines and costs for breaches of the Motor-vehicles Regulations, Ralph Andrews, age fifty, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer and fencing contractor, native of New Zealand, slight build, dark complexion, black hair turning grey, brown eyes. o Zfa/£&.

Napier. —l6th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for one month in default of paying £2B 15s. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his wife and two children, Alexander Thomas FOX, age forty, height 5 ft. 10 in., carrying contractor, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, blue eyes, long nose, blue scar on forehead. Palmerston North. 2lst May last, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for one month in default of paying £2 15s. balance of fine and costs for trespass on Awapuni Racecourse, John Reuben Sheppard, alias Shepherd, referred to in Police Gazette, 1936, page 380. He is also wanted at Ashhurst for a breach of his probation, (Offenders Probation Act, 1920).

Otari.— lßth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for seven days in default of paying £1 ss. fine and costs for drunkenness, Alexander Swain, alias John ROSS, alias Swaine, referred to in Police Gazette, 1936, page 292, and Photographs, 1930, page 67.
