Memorandum. On my retirement from the office of Commissioner of Police, I desire to take this opportunity to officially say farewell to the officers and men of the Service, and to express my deep appreciation of their loyalty and efficient service during the term I had the honour and privilege to have control of so splendid a Force. Although now severing active association, I will continue to take a deep interest in the Service as also in the advancement and well-being of its members. W. G. Wohlmans, Commissioner of Police. Election of a Member of the Board to represent Contributors BELONGING TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT.

Notice is hereby given that an extraordinary vacancy having been created by the retirement as a member of the Public Service of W. G. Wohlmann, Esq., M.V.0., 1.5.0., an election will be held for the purpose of electing as a member of the Public Service Superannuation Board one person from among the contributors to the fund who belong to the Police Department, and notice is further given that: —

(1) The said election will be held on Wednesday, the 19th day of August, 1936, at the Public Service Superannuation Board’s Office, Johnston Street, Wellington, C. 1.

(2) The poll will close at 5 o’clock p.m

(3) Nominations will be closed on Wednesday, 22nd July, 1936, at 5 o’clock p.m., and the voting-lists will be closed on that dav.

(4) Candidates must be nominated by two other contributors belonging to the Police Department. The nominationpaper must be in the form prescribed by Regulation 44, Public Service Superannuation Act, 1927, and must contain the consent of the candidate to his nomination.
