Auckland. 3oth November last, from the Parnell Baths, the property of ATHOL PHILIP REVEIRS, forest ranger, Rotorua, a gentlemen’s silver round keyless Rolex wristletwatch, No. 50003, silvery-coloured dial, with “ Gilbert & Morrison, Wellington ” stamped on it, and brown leather strap attached ; value £3 17s. 6d. Identifiable.

Auckland. —Between the 10th and 12th October last, from the garage of Dr. JOHN HOPE, 90 Ladies’ Mile, Remuera, a plain wooden box, size about 3 ft. by 2 ft. by 2 ft., ends strengthened with wooden battens and steel bands, containing about thirty to forty volumes of medical, historical, and general literature, some of which are “ The Life of Charles the First,” by Disraeli; Southey’s, Scott’s, Shelley’s, and Burns’s poems; books on hygiene and public health ; a book on criminology by “ Erb-Cracting ” ; a book on medical jurisprudence. Most of the books have “ John Hope written on title page; a silver-mounted oak and porcelain biscuit bowl; a salad bowl similar to the biscuit bowl; and probably other similar goods : total value, £2O. Identifiable.

Auckland. —24th October last, from a motor-car in Albert Street, the property of Dr. JOSEPH CECIL DOUGLAS MACKY, Avondale Mental Hospital, a brown canvas golfbag with steel ribs and zip-fastened hood; a brassie with cracked head; a No. 6 iron, branded “E. J. Moss,” with adhesive plaster at join of head and shaft; a No. 5 iron, branded “ E. J. Moss,” with red hand between head and shaft ; a No. 3 iron, branded “ Power Pact ” ; a pair of old studded shoes, tongue missing from one; a black umbrella with sixteen ribs and hook handle; about six Goblin golf balls : total value, £l2. Identifiable.

Auckland. On 24th November last, a store at the Naval Base, Devonport, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Naval Department), was broken into and the following stolen: Two Boosey and Hawkes black ebony B flat flutes with nickel fittings, 15 in. long, arrow over “ M ” over “19 ” and maker’s name branded on them: total value, £1 3s. 6d. Identifiable.

Auckland.—WlLLlAM EDWARD HARVIE’S motor-cycle stolen : This motor-cycle is described in Police Gazette, 1933, pages 56 and 641, but the description at the former Police Gazette reference is incorrect, and should be cancelled in all copies of the Police Gazette.

Auckland. 2nd September last, from a house in the course of erection at Martyn Avenue, Mount Albert, the property of RALPH LUSH, 130 Pah Road, Onehunga, an iron No. 6 Stanley plane with broken handle; a Snail claw hammer ; a, carpenter’s kit, almost new, with holes in bottom, Us. 6d. marked on inside in blue pencil; a 10 in. square; a 4-| in. square; an automatic drill; two gaugesone dark and one light colour ; a carborundum oil-stone in cedar box ; a 4 in. by 24 in. Stanley scraper; al4 in. Butt chisel; a ],] in. chisel with damaged handle'; a rasp; a bevel with “ R.L.” punched in woodwork; a 66 ft. tape mended at end ; twelve pairs of 3 in. butt hinges : total value, £5 15s. 9d. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 10 in., slight build, dark complexion, thin features; dressed in light-coloured sports coat, dark trousers, down-turned felt hat with light-coloured trimmings; rides a white painted bicycle.

Katikati. — 6th instant, the property of .JOHN CLOUTMAN, farmer, Athenree, three £1 notes ; two white silk shirts, size four, fitted with zip fasteners: total' value, £3 16s. Identification of shirts doubtful. Suspicion is attached to

* Harry Wilson, age about thirty-five, height about 5 ft. 9 in., (z /farm labourer and seaman, good build, fresh complexion, yUcurly fair hair, blue eyes; clasped hands on one forearm, and heart and “ G ” on other forearm ; believed native of England ; dressed in grey suit, grey felt hat, black shoes. He was employed on Cloutman’s Farm, which he left on the 6th instant, and it was then found that the money was missing from a wallet in complainant’s coat-pocket. The shirts are the property of LESLIE SKINNER, a farm labourer.

Hastings. Between 15th October and 30th November last, from the motor-shed of WILLIAM JOHN LIVINGSTONE, Mangatahi, a \ horse-power green air-cooled vertical benzine engine, size about 12 in. square, with pulley and a dynamo which is similar to type used on cars attached; engine is bolted to a piece of Oregon timber, size about 3 ft. by 1 ft., dial ampmeter set between engine and dynamo; value, £9. Identifiable.

Hastings. -On the 13th August last, WARREN’S BAKERY, Napier Road, Havelock North, was broken into and 15s. in money stolen. The offence may have been committed by Horace Raymond Edlin, referred to in Police Gazette, 1935, page 732, and Photographs, page 64, and when located he is to be interviewed regarding it. Wanganui.— 15th June and 16th July last, from the office of the WANGANUI EDUCATION BOARD, Aramoho, a horse-power two-stroke “ Matag ” benzine engine, used with concrete mixer, “F.Y.E.D. 4” branded on fly-wheel, American Bosch magneto attached ; six Oregon and totara window-sashes, size 3 ft. by 3J ft. : total value, £ls. Wellington. —Between 26th and 29th October last, the shop of the CATHOLIC SUPPLIES, LTD., 63 Dixon Street, was broken into and the following stolen: £33 in money, made up of £2O in English silver and £l3 in New Zealand Reserve Bank notes; a large 15 ct. or 18 ct. five-stone diamond engagement ring, known as size S, claw setting: total value, £6B.
