Christchurch. — On the Ist instant, Francis lan Hamilton Meikle was granted, a rehearing of the four charges of false pretences, referred to in Police Gazette, 1935, page 424, and the Magistrate held that the convictions must stand, but the sentence of three years’ reformative detention imposed on the first charge was reduced to eighteen months’ reformative detention. All copies of the Police Gazette are to be amended accordingly.
