Auckland. — November last, the property of ELIZABETH MORRIS, Park Road, Titirangi, a black and brindle coloured Aberdeen Scotch terrier dog, age about fifteen months, answers to name “ Mac,” “ 1159 ”on collar, Morris, Titirangi, Phone No. 28--105 ” on brass tablet on collar ; value, £8 Bs. Auckland. —18th December last, from the dwelling of CONSTANCE MARION GERTRUDE CARTHEW, 120 Orakei Road, Remuera, a ladies’ 18 ct. gold Rotherhams keyless wristlet watch, 18 ct. gold wristlet, consisting of four bars about £ in. long connected by small hinges to another set of four bars, and so on until the wristlet is complete value, £25. Auckland.— the 12th and 22nd November last, from the magazine at Penrose Rifle Range, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Navy Department), twenty-two packets, each containing six' rounds of -455 Webley Scott revolver ammunition, solid nose lead bullets, base of shell marked “ -455 ” over “II ” ; value, 9s. 3|-d. Auckland.— the 17th December last, the office of the Associated Motorists Petrol Co. was broken into and the following, the property of PHARIC MACFARLANE, stolen : A gentlemen’s 9 ct. gold open-face wristlet-watch, stem winder with gold hands, Roman numerals, “ P.M. 29/7/31 ” on outside of case, and a quantity of tea and biscuits: total value, £lO. Watch identifiable. An attempt was made to open the safe by means of explosives.

Auckland. the 28th December last, the dwelling of THOMAS LANHAN COWARD, 214 New North Road, was broken into and the following stolen: A dark-red mottled fountain-pen, small crack in top, bound with cotton; and a gentlemen’s 9 ct. or 15 ct. gold large ring, set with a large ruby in claw setting : total value, £3. Identifiable.

Auckland. —On the 12th October last, the dwelling of LOLA MARKS, 35 Landscape Road, Mount Eden, was broken into and the following stolen: An 18 ct. gold halfhoop engagement ring, claw set with three diamonds and two sapphires ; an 18 ct. gold half-hoop engagement ring, claw set with three rubies and two diamonds ; an 18 ct. gold ring, set with a large dark-green oval jade stone in frame setting; a gold pendant in shape of a ribbon tied in three-loop bow, with amethyst drop from each loop and fine gold chain attached : total value, £26. Identifiable.

Auckland. —16th ultimo, from a motor-car which was unlawfully used, the property of ERNEST GEORGE HALLETT, a Wasga six-volt motor-car battery, No. 3710 and 3 L.; two Goodyear tires, size 3-50 by 19 ; two inner tubes for tires; a pair of rear side-curtains for Baby Austin motor-car, with black celluloid windows; and an ordinary wheel-brace : total value, £9 12s. 6d. Battery only identifiable. The motor-car (a Baby Austin, value £65) was unlawfully converted by some person unknown, who removed it from The Strand, Parnell, and abandoned it at Orakei.

Auckland. —On the 29th or 30th December last, the dwelling of JAMES CUNNINGHAM HEDLEY, 7 Fowlds Street, Ellersiie, was broken into and the following stolen: A ladies’ gold octagonal-shaped open-face Swiss wristletwatch, light-coloured, figures, gold expanding wrist-band; and a Masonic jewel, comprising a gold bar at each end of a ribbon, with a gold medal the size of a florin, and a gold square and compass attached, jewel is inscribed as follows : “ Presented to Alex. Hedley, P.M., from members of Eden Lodge, No. 1530, E.C.” : total value, £l2 10s. Identifiable.

Auckland. —23rd December last, from a motor-car, the property of ALFRED RICHARD BUCHANAN, 12 Scotia Place, a chromium-plated radiator-cap, steel band on top, pewter chromium-plated figures of angel attached; value, £2 15s. Identifiable.

Auckland. —Ist December last, from a motor-car, the property of SIDNEY GREEN, a large Waterman fountain-pen, large heavy gold nib, two gold collars on barrel, “ Sidney Green ” inscribed between gold bands, value, £3. Identifiable.

Onehunga. the 14th October last, the dwelling of MABEL OLIVER, Carlton Street, was broken into and the following stolen: A silver cigarette-case, design of motorist at wheel on front; a black leather trunk ; two rugs ; a pair of ivory hair-brushes ; a pair of skates ; gloves ; pipes, including long Dutch pipe ; a Swift tennis racket; a bunch of keys; a Sphinx silver-plated paperweight, 5 in. high, 4 in. across, and books, &c. : total value, £2O. Thames. loth ultimo, from the dwelling of BLANCHE DARLING, Karaka Road, a ladies’ -18 ct. gold oblong ring, set with nine diamonds on cross in rows of three each, platinum setting; and four £1 notes: total value, £24. Ring identifiable. Suspicion is attached to a Man (name unknown), age about thirty-two, height about 5 ft. 9 in., slight build, sharp features; dressed in grey trousers, grey sports coat, and grey cap.

Hamilton. On or about the 20th September last, the property of THOMAS JAMES, farmer, Te Aroha, a letter addressed “ Mr. Tom James, R.M.D., Te Aroha,” containing a postal-note for Bs. 6d., No. 092846. Suspicion is attached to a Man (name unknown), age about seventeen, height 5 ft. 5 in., medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair ; dressed in dark clothes (no hat). The letter was posted at Masterton by the firm of Thomas Borthwick and Sons, and subsequently the postal-note was cashed in a confectionery shop in Te Aroha by the above-described man. Between the 27th August and 26th October, 1934, four other letters were stolen, containing postal-notes which were cashed, and it is considered that all the letters were stolen from complainant’s rural mail-box.

New Plymouth. - 9th December last, from H.M.S. “ Laburnum,” the property of FREDERICK GEORGE SINCHCOMBE, a gentlemen’s silver open-face key-winder watch with gold hands, Roman numerals, “ Petersfield, Oct. 1877 ” on inside of back case, metal chain attached ; value, £3 2s. 6d. Watch identifiable.

Waipukurau. — the 20th ultimo, the wool-store of ALEXANDER JAMES HASTIE, in Russell Street, was broken into and the following stolen : A cheque-book on the Bank of Australasia, Waipukurau, No. B 65-401 to B 65-460, with the last twenty-two cheque-forms unused; a hornhandled pocket-knife with two blades and hook or spike, corkscrew, and tweezers attached ; and 12s. in silver : total value, 16s. Identifiable except money.

Palmerston North. Between the 17th March, 1934, and the 23rd ultimo, from the dwelling of JAMES JESSE COX, a -22 calibre single-shot Stevens Arms Co. rifle, “ Favourite 899 ” on stock which was bound with a/fishmg-line ; value, £2. Identifiable. X*-/S

E. Henderson, Red Bird Depot, Levin ” stamped on frame ; value, £3. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Melville (name probably fictitious), age about thirty-seven, height about 5 ft. 10 in., strong build, dark complexion and hair; dressed in a black or dark-blue suit, light felt hat with black band, and patent leather shoes ; good appearance; erect gait. A man of the description given endeavoured to sell at Foxton a bicycle similar to the one stolen.

Masterton. —30th December last, from clothing on the banks of the Waipoua River, the property of BASIL ERIC KING, 44 Nelson Street, Petone, a gentlemen’s rolled-gold cushion-shaped wristlet-watch, No. 291234, “ Novoris ” on dial, luminous English numerals, grey leather wrist strap; value, 15s. Identifiable.

Christchurch. 24th December last, from a bedroom at 186 Lichfield Street, the property of ROBERT JAMES HILL, two Reserve Bank £5 notes, Nos. K 284098 and K 284099 respectively; and six Reserve Bank £1 notes. Suspicion is attached to John William Price, alias Hayman, age thirty-four, height 5 ft. 9 in., gold-miner, native of Australia, medium build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, grey eyes; dressed in a brown suit, light-brown shirt with zip fastener (no hat, .collar, tie, or socks). En route between Murchison and Christchurch by car the accused and complainant became acquainted and occupied the same bedroom, but during the night the former disappeared, and in the morning complainant discovered that his money had been stolen. 3// Z/

The car, totally destroyed, was found next day at the bottom of a cliff on the Sumner-Lyttelton Road. Any information regarding the offence is to be communicated to the Superintendent of Police, Christchurch.

Kurow. About the 16th October, 1927, the property of JOHN RONALD STEVENS, 13 Eaton Place, Christchurch, a Selbstlade pistol, 7-65 calibre, Carl Walther, Zella St. Blasii, No. 157665. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about fifty, height 5 ft. 8 in., station hand, native of England, medium build, grey hair; well dressed; a remittance man with distinct English accent.

Lawrence. —12th ultimo, from outside the Beaumont Hotel, the property of CLAUDE SELL, a -22 calibre Winchester repeating rifle, No. 647313 ; value, £4 15s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Cecil Johnston, referred to in Police Gazette, 1931, pages 92 and 383, and Photographs, 1929, page 48. He has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.
