Whangarei. John Priebe, alias Preebe, failing to make adequate provision for the maintenance of his wife (see Police Gazette, 1934, page 413), has been located by the Queensland (Australia) police at Broadwater, Kupunn, via Dalby, Queensland.
Whangarei. — the Bth and 10th September last, for theft of a bicycle (recovered), value, £2 10s., the property of Edwin Hilton Kerr, gold-buyer, 21 St. Benedicts Street, F. Howard (name probably fictitious), age about thirtythree, height about 5 ft. 6 in., dark complexion ; well dressed in a grey suit. The bicycle was stolen from the yard of the Commercial Hotel and sold to a second-hand dealer. No warrant.
Avondale. instant, that he may be interviewed regarding non-payment of his unemployment levies, Fing Son, gardener; native of China. He may be identical with Fong Song, abas Fong Hung Sang, referred to in Police Gazette, 1933, page 206, and Photographs, page 33 v _ jin•Jeymrtuva/ //y '^
Auckland. —13th instant, that he may be interviewed regarding non-payment of his unemployment levies, Arthur William Everiss, age thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 8J in., enginedriver, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, grey hair, blue eyes; usually dressed in a blue suit and brown felt hat; left hand injured, and fingers contracted ; walks as if paralysed ; frequents race-meetings and hotels; dirty appearance. Auckland. —12th instant, that he may be interviewed regarding the maintenance of his four children in the care of the Education Department, Albert Chapman, alias Thatcher, age forty-eight, height 5 ft. 4 in., labourer, slight build, fair complexion and hair, blue-grey eyes, slightly deaf ; usually dressed in a navy-blue suit and light felt hat; fond of horseracing. Arrears to the Bth August last,' £l7.
Auckland. — On or about the 22nd December, 1933, on warrant for theft of £2 17s. 6d., the property of William McKee, Lovain Street, Whakatane, Charles Thomas Wood, age twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 7 in., cook, native of England, strong build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, scar on bridge of nose, on right forearm, on back of left hand, and on left palm, left thumb broken, ruptured on right side; usually dressed in a grey suit. Complainant, who was a patient in the public hospital, gave accused authority to collect his wages£2 17s. 6d.— the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Co. Auckland. — Bth instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Dorothy Laurenson, Arthur Gilbert Laurenson, age sixty-one, height 5 ft. 6-Jr in., salesman, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, grey hair going bald, blue eyes ; well dressed. Hastings.— instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Marion Hogan, Sydney John Hogan, age thirty-one, height 5 ft. 6-| in., hairdresser, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, black hair, hazel eyes, broad nose, decayed front teeth, long features, scar on forehead ; swinging gait. Wanganui. —lst instant, for a breach of his probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1930), Charles Eric Spurgeon, age forty-four, height 5 ft. 4J in., electrical engineer, native of South America, medium build, dark complexion, brown hair, scroll and “ Muriel ” on right forearm ; good appearance. He has not made restitution in respect to the charge referred to in Police Gazette, 1932, page 572, and he has also failed to report to a Probation Officer. Wanganui — instant, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife and two children, George Rayne Bell, age thirty-six, height 5 ft. 5 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, slight build, florid complexion, dark hair, blue eyes ; usually dressed in a brown suit. - Arrears to 27th August last, £lB.
Dannevirke. —20th June last, for false pretences, R. Down, alias Rix, age about thirty, height 5 ft. 5 in., salesman, medium build, fair complexion and hair, blue eyes, upper lip protrudes slightly ; thin face ; dressed in a grey suit and grey felt hat; smart appearance. Accused obtained £1 16s. from Harry Francis Hewson bootmaker, 6 Barraud Street, by falsely representing that if he bought some Manifold ink-stain remover he would give him the Dannevirke agency for same. He also stated that he represented the Columbia Supplies Co., Napier, but such a firm does_not exist. No warrant. Ac /tos- ///$/ >S ■

Wellington.— l6th instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Sophie Myers, Harold Solomon Myers, age thirty-nine, height 5 ft. 7 in., salesman, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, black hair, dark-brown eyes, rather large nose, mole below one eye ; usually well dressed in a navyblue suit, and wears horn-rimmed spectacles; inclined to be round-shouldered. On or about the 23rd ultimo, on warrant for theft of a sovereign (recovered), and a ladies’ black-enamelled bicycle (straight handles, back-pedalling brake, left handle bent, steel mudguards, skirt guard has been renovated with string, no chain-guard, carrier on rear) : total value, £4 10s., the property of Ada Elizabeth Hammerick, Alabama Road, Eric Stanley, alias R. Nicholl, alias Eric stanlyn, age twentyfour, height 5 ft. 9J in., plumber and labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair and eyes ; dressed in a light-grey suit (no hat); smart appearance. Accused was staying at complainant’s house when he committed the offence. (See Police Gazette, 1934, page 329, and Photographs, 1932, page 6.)/Christchurch. — ultimo, on warrant for theft of a horseclipping machine (recovered), and a green canvas kit-bag, containing five grey shirts, five pairs of underpants, a blue coat and vest, a pair of grey trousers, two pairs of Palmer nap trousers, two pairs of black boots? a .pair of_tan shoes (size 7), two bush rugs? a fawn gabardine overcoat, several dozen soft white collars, and" a nu l fib or of t ps value, £lO, thpynroperty of v John Beattie Beggs, labourer, Guest House/ Henry' Foote, alias Thomas John Henry Foote, referred to in Police Gazette, 1934, page 587, and Photographs, 1923, page 36. Complainant, who had served three months in prison, called on David Archer, blacksmith? Lichfield Street, to collect his clipping machine and swag, but was informed that they had been taken away by a man, and Edward Edwin McLaren, referred to in Police Gazette, 1934, page 587, was subsequently convicted of the offence. The latter stated that John Henry Foote was associated with him in the commission of the offence.
Breaches of Arms Act. The following persons are to be located so that proceedings for failing to notify their change of address may be instituted against them (Arms Act) : Huntly. Thomas Read, labourer, who, on the 19th March, 1930, registered a -22 calibre single-shot Bayard rifle, No. 75535.
: Huntly. William Linton Belve, chainman, who, on the 22nd June, 1921, registered a Snider rifle, No. 1101 A.S.A.
Otaki. — Kwong Yick, age about thirty-two, height about 5 ft. 8 in., gardener, native of China, strong build, sallow complexion, dark hair, small eyes, dark prominent eyebrows, three gold teeth ; speaks slowly, who, on the Bth December, 1924, registered a -22 calibre Winchester-repeating rifle.
Kurow. — Robert Norman, rabbiter, who, on the 6th May, 1922, registered a -22 calibre Stevens Favourite rifle, No. J. 618.
