Onehunga. the 18th and 20th September last, from the dwelling of CLAUDE PURCHAS, farmer, O’Rorke Road, a ladies’ silver Swiss Baume open-face watch, 15 jewels, “ C ” scratched over a number on inside of back case ; value, £5. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Mart (name unknown), age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 10 in., slight build, fair complexion, reddish bristly hair ; wearing a well worn brown suit and grey felt hat; carrying a swag and old khaki coat.

Paeroa. —Between the 15th and 17th September last, the shop of HARE BROS., radio dealers, was broken into and the following stolen : An H.M.V. table type radio receiving-set, seven valves, model 65, serial No. 018514, four control switches, size of cabinet 19f in. by 18f-in. by 12 in.; and an H.M.V. table type radio receiving-set, model R. 4, Cathedral radio cabinet, seven valves, three control switches, serial No. 596419: total value, £55. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Clive Neville Watts, referred to in Police Gazette, 1934, page 602.

Opotiki. Between the 28th and 29th August last, from a hut, the property of HAROLD WILLIAM DARLEY, Kutarere, a gentlemen’s brown leather cow-hide overcoat', tartan lining, “ H. W. Darley ” on lining of pockets ; and a cream silk coat-shirt, “ W. H. Darley ” printed in ink near brand : total value, £6 18s. 6d. Identifiable.

Hastings.— the sth and 12th ultimo, from a woolshed, the property of ERNEST GROOME, farmer, Otane, four bales of Romney crutchings, about 400 lb. in each bale, three bales branded “ Onepu,” Nos. 1,2, and 3 respectively on end, one bale branded No. 1 “ Tuhana ” ; about 200 lb. Romney cross wool ; and about twenty Romney cross woolly sheep-skins, ear-marked with fork out of tip of each ear and age marked, some may also be ear-marked with “ M ” out of back of right ear, and some may bear a bottle brand in green, red, or black : total value, £47. Palmerston North— the 26th and 27th ultimo, the offices of COUTTS BROS., 90 Church Street, was broken into and the following stolen : A Wooden cigar-box, about 14 in. by 8 in. by 6 in., containing a crossed cheque for £l2 15s. 3d. on the National Bank of New Zealand, Palmerston North, No. K 08600, payable to Courts Bros., drawn by Duncalf and Son, and dated 20/10/34; and £2 6s. in money: total value, £ls 2s. Identifiable except money. The ■ box was stolen from the strong-room which was opened by means of explosives.

Wellington.- Between the 30th September last and Ist ultimo, from a’room at 46 Mulgrave Street, the property of EDWARD ALEXANDER SPARKS,' a gentlemen’s doublebreasted brown" overcoat, herringbone pattern; fit a man about. 5 ft. 10-in., large collar ; value, £6 10s,. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to McKay (probably fictitious), age about twenty-six, height about 5 ft. Jin., medium-build; fresh complexion, dark hair, full - f Ace ; wearing a navy-blue suit, navy-blue overcoat, long white scarf, and black pointed shoes.
