Whangarei.— EDMOND JANSEN’S watch, &c., stolen, referred to in Police Gazette, 1934, page 426 : It has been ascertained that the watch is nickel (not silver), and has repair No. 26144, which is preceded by one of the following letters : “ A,” “ R,” or “ E,” and has also “ S. 3 ” on inside of back case.

Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Marie Mcßride, age about fifty-five, height 5 ft. 7 in., married, native of New Zealand, stout build, ruddy complexion, hair turning grey, grey eyes. She has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.

Auckland. -Between the Ist and 2nd instant, the shop of JOHN ELLIOTT, 177 a Symonds Street, was broken into and the following stolen : About six dozen pairs of ladies’ silk stockings, Morley brand, sizes 81 to 9|, “ M ” on feet; about three dozen pairs of silk hosiery, Lady Jane brand’ sizes from 8|- to 10 ; about three dozen pairs of ladies’ grey woollen stockings, Cashmere Morley brand, “ M ” on feet, sizes 8) to 10 ; about two dozen pairs of ladies’ silk hose, Morley’s silk and wool make, “ M ” and Flying Wheel symbol on heels ; about two dozen and a half pairs of ladies’ silk stockings, Goldtex make, sizes 81 to 9 ; eleven pairs of ladies’ silk stockings, Morley Anglia make, “M ” on feet, fancy clocks around top and up sides of legs, sizes 81 to 10 ; three pairs of ladies’ silk stockings, Circle Bar brand, picot edge and red line around tops, size 8| ; two dozen pairs of silk stockings, assorted makes and colours, sizes 9 to 10; six pairs of ladies’ silk stockings, size 9|; six pairs of ladies’ black and white kid leather gloves, sizes 6 and 7 ; six pairs of ladies’ black and white ’ kid gloves, size 6|; twelve pairs of fabric gloves, sizes 61 to 74, light and dark fawn shades ; twelve pairs of ladies’ dark-brown leather gauntlet gloves, Nappa brand, sizes 6 and 7 ; and two pairs of ladies’ dark brown leather gauntlet gloves, with fringes, size 6f and 7 ; total value, £9O. Auckland. —On the 29th July last, from the dwelling of WILLIAM EDWARD ROBINSON, 42 Aitken Terrace, Kingsland, a ladies’ silver hunting Waltham keyless watch, chased case; a silver curb watch-chain; a plain silver sovereign - ; and £7 11s. in money: total value, £9. Identifiable except money.

Auckland.— 22nd ultimo, the property of the DOMINION MOTORS, LTD., a Morris Minor sedan motor-car, fabric body, painted blue with red wheels, engine No. U. 9767, chassis No. 9642, registration No. D. 1038; value, £lO5. Hamilton. instant, from 2 River Road, the property of WALTER JOHNSTON, an H.M.V. gramophone, table model, oak cabinet, size about 15 in. by 13 in..; thirty gramophone records; two light-grey floor rugs, size 5 ft. by 3 ft.; two pairs of single grey blankets; a blue and pink cotton counterpane; two kapoc pillows; and a pink and blue floral eiderdown : total value, £29. Identifiable except records. Suspicion is attached to Cooper (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-four, height 5 ft. 8 in., thin build, tanned complexion, fair sandy hair (parted in centre), blue eyes, receding lower jaw, pimples on face, slight defect in speech; wearing a brown tweed suit, khaki shirt, khaki and blue knitted muffler. Suspect rented' a furnished flat from complainant, and after staying a,week left, telling complainant ?o>Fl G*> /u <yiru //(/}

he was going to Te Kuiti, but would return the same day. He failed to return, and complainant subsequently discovered that the articles mentioned above were missing from the flat. He was in possession of a Morris Minor motor-car, painted darkblue. This car may be the one referred to as stolen ip preceding paragraph. Suspect also obtained -.fron/ I’redepck George Watson, radio deader, Victoria Street, a seven-valve Pilot radio-set, cha/sifTNoI 11353, value £2&'l6s{ ; and also a Gulbransen radio-set, chassis No. 7D. 677641, value*£26 10s., from Rita Eileen Rountree, radio-dealer, Victoria Street. These radio-sets were obtained by him for demonstration purposes, and he may endeavour to dispose of them. Paeroa. —Between the 17th and 30th July last, from the workshop of Hare Bros., the property of CLAUDE TIPPETT, mechanic, a Starrett’s combination level set with a protraction centre ; a pair of insulated pliers ; a Crescent screw-driver ; a Bull-pup valve-lifter; an engineer’s hammer; a Stilton wrench ; a cold chisel, branded “T ” ; a Union Lever pad- i lock ; and a blow-lamp : total value £6 Is. 6d. Identifiable." Suspicion is attached to Clive Neville Watts, referred to in / Police Gazette, 1934, page 483. He is in possession of a Chevrolet touring motor-car, 1926 model, Reg. No. 8-739, and travels in country districts repairing nmkin^;-machines,, &c;

Suspicion is attached to Woman (name unknown), age about twenty-three, height about 5 ft. 6 in., dark complexion, dark short hair; wearing a dark-brown leather overcoat, brown beret, and dark-brown golfing shoes with rubber soles.

Wanganui.— About the Bth ultimo, the office of NORMAN ANNABELL, Rand Chambers, St* Hills Street, was broken into and the following stolen: A plane and hammer (recovered); a Dumpy lever in wooden case, 14 in. long on triangular base, with three bearing screws ; an Abney level 6 in. long, may be marked “ Littlejohn ” ; an Abney level’ Stanley make, about 6 in. long ; a prismatic compass, probably Littlejohn make; a brass parallel ruler, about 18 in. long; a steel straight-edge, about 36 in. long; arid a box of drawing instruments : total value, £39 4s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Fred Langstaff Haslett Taylor, referred to in Police Gazette, 1922, page 194, and Photographs, page 47, who has been convicted for theft of plane, hammer’ and office keys, which were traced to his possession. On the Bth ultimo a fire broke out in complainant’s office, causing damage amounting to £ll6 17s. Bd. to the building and about £35 to the contents. Suspect was employed by complainant, and it is believed that he broke into the office stole the instruments, and set fire to the building. He has been interviewed regarding the balance of the missing property, but no evidence resulted. "

Feilding. —7th instant, from a dwelling at Tokorangi, the property of ARTHUR ALEXANDER BARNETT, schoolboy, a gentlemen’s dark suit with red spots, fit man about 5 ft. 9 in., “ Premier P.D.C. Palmerston North ” on tag ; a white shirt, with “I. A. Barnett on neckband; a blue football jersey with white collar ; a pair of brown gabardine trousers ; and a pair of woollen underpants : total value, £5. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about twenty-nine, height about 6 ft., slight build, fair hair, staring eyes; wearing a blue suit and dark overcoat (no hat). He was riding a bicycle, the rear wheel of which was squeaking, and on the handles he carried a bundle.

Wellington.— July last, from a room in the Gresham Hotel, the property of EILEEN MAY BARRY, a ladies 9 ct. gold open-face wristlet-watch, No. 82480, “ E. 8.” engraved on back, with black ribbon wristlet attached ; a 9 ct. gold bangle, silver lined; and £1 2s. in money : total value, £5 7s. Identifiable except money.

Christchurch. — Between the 14th and 15th July last, from 65 Gloucester Street, the property of EVA BOULTON, a ladies’ fawn Pahmi fur coat, fit a woman about 5 ft. 2 in., shot-silk lining, no lining in collar ; value £3O. Identifiable.

Christchurch. —On the 4th July last, the dwelling of JOHN HAROLD KEARNEY, 100 Malvern Street, was broken into and the following stolen : A Gulbransen wirelessset, floor model, equipped with seven Radiotron valves, which are numbered as follows : 5343, 5344, 5345, 5346, 5347, 5349, and 4440; value, £2O.
