Auckland.— ultimo, for a breach of his probabion (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), Alan David Mcßoger, alias Hentsche, age thirty, height 5 ft. 2 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, fair complexion, light-brown hair, hazel eyes, scar on right side of neck, deformed chest, anchor, heart, and dagger on left forearm, round shoulders; usually dressed in a blue suit and brown felt hat turned well down in front. Accused attempted to obtain from George Alfred Smith, manager, Confidential Loan Co., 20 Empire Buildings, Queen Street, the sum of £SO by falsely representing that he was John Charles Maddern, anil the owner of a Nash coupe motorcar, engine No. A. 36453, chassis No, A. 67200. A u ckl a n d. —15th June last, for theft of a bicycle (recovered), value £2 10s., the property of Francis William Harrington, 771 Dominion Road, Roy Francis McKay (name probably fictitious), age twenty-one, height about 5 ft. 5 in., butcher, dark complexion and hair. The bicycle was stolen from outside the Wellesley Street Post-office and sold to a dealer by a man of the above description. No warrant.
Auckland. — 15th ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his four children, George William Heatley, age forty, height about 5 ft. 3 in., fireman and wiper, native of England, medium build, fair complexion, long fair hair. Arrears to 28th July last, £2BO 9s. lOd. It has been ascertained that he deserted from the s.s. “ Maunganui ” at Sydney (Australia) on the 7th June last.

July last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for three months in default of paying £95 15s. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Elvie Agnes Alcock, William Alexander Alcock, age twentyeight, height 5 ft. 5f in., horse-trainer and bushman, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, curly brown hair, hazel eyes, scar, on right side of abdomen, small mole on right cheek ; usually dressed in a navy-blue suit (no hat); frequents hotels, billiard-saloons, racecourses, and racingstables. Dannevirke. — 13th ultimo, on warrant for theft of a bicycle (recovered) and a Bosch electric-light set, total value £8 7s. 6d., the property of Adrian Hurcles Gray, R. Blair (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., slight build, dark complexion and hair; dressed in a dark suit and felt hat. Italian appearance. The bicycle was stolen from outside the Post-office at Dannevirke and sold to a second-hand dealer at Palmerston North by a man of the description given.
