Auckland. —lßth instant, from Upper Queen Street, the property of EIJI KUROSAWA, a blue seven-seater Chrysler tourer motor-car, chassis No. 35971, engine No. 59209, 1927 model. Identifiable.

Auckland. — sth instant, from the dwelling of ADA EDWARDS, 7 Kingsley Street, a ladies’ gold watch, large size, dark gold face with black Roman figures, engraving on back ; a 9 ct. gold muff-chain ; a 9 ct. gold solitaire singlestone diamond ring in claw setting; and £3 10s. in money : total value, £ll ss. Identifiable except money.

Between the 15th and 16th June last, a hut, the property of ERIC RHODES, Awhitu, was broken into and the following stolen : Forty-two superphosphate sacks ; and a No. 2 folding autographic Browning camera : total value, £1 4s. Wellington.— the 12th and 13th June last, the Picture Theatre at Johnsonville was broken into and the following, the property of HERBERT FRANCIS LAMB, Main Road, stolen: A cheque-book on the Commercial Bank of Australia, Wellington, containing fifty-two cheques, Nos. 558968 to 559020; value, Bs. Bd. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to a Man (name unknown), age about thirty-seven, height about 5 ft. 10 in., medium build, fresh complexion, blue eyes, full face, clean-shaved ; wearing a dark-grey overcoat, brown felt hat, and fight-grey flannel

trousers; talks of being connected with trotting racing. Eight of the stolen cheques were forged and uttered (three at Christchurch and five at Wellington)Nos. 558973, 558990, 558991, 558997, 558999, 559000, 559020, and 559018. The writing on all the forged cheques appears to have been done by the same man, and his description in each case answers to that given above. On the Bth instant, the clothing factory of SCHNEIDEMAN AND SONS, LTD., Cable Street, was broken into and the following stolen: A gentlemen’s blue suit, size 5, “ 1162 ” on inside of sleeve-lining, maker’s name on inside pocket of coat; a gentlemen’s brown suit with double red stripes, size 5, “ 1113 ” on inside of lining of sleeve, maker’s name on inside pocket of coat; and a pair of gentlemen’s black trousers with grey stripe, size 7, “ 1188 ” on lining of pockets : total value, £lO ss. Identifiable.

Kaikoura. — Between the Bth and 9th instant, from the Rink Taxi Garage, the property of the D.1.C., Cashel Street, Christchurch, a brown georgette and lace two-piece dinner frock ; a black and white check dress ; a navy-blue silk dress with large white spots; a black frock with red and white leaves, white satin trimming at neck, quilted frill around bottom; a pair of pink corselettes; a pair of white shoes, size 4; and a pair of white satin shoes, size 4 : total value, £35 12s. sd. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to James Steven Morighan, referred to in Police Gazette, 1934, page 325, and Photographs, 1928, page 61. He has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.

Dunedin. 3oth ultimo, from 19 London Street, the property of ELIZABETH BEIGHTON, 2 Belmont Lane, a ladies’ 18 ct. gold wristlet-watch with gold expanding wristlet and safety-chain attached, No. 145224, “ E. 8.” engraved on back of case, repair Nos. 5582 and 5804 scratched on inside of case; value, £B. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Harold Walter Larkins, referred to in Police Gazette, 1932, page 575, and Photographs, page 99. He has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.

Dunedin. — 15th June last, from 50 Manor Place, the property of ALEXANDER FRANCIS FORSYTH, Moa Flat, Otago, a brown leather money-belt, with two nickel buckles and four pouches attached, containing two £lO notes and two £5 notes. Money-belt only identifiable.

Dunedin. the 7th June last, the dwelling of JOHN TEASDALE LEECH, 382 High Street, was broken into and the following stolen: £27 in money, consisting of fifteen sovereigns, four half-sovereigns, and balance in bank-notes and silver. Not identifiable.
