Whangarei. Between the sth and 24th ultimo, the dwelling of THOMAS EDWARD DE NORVILLE, Kauika Road, was broken into and the following stolen : A ladies’ gold Rotherhams wristlet-watch, with “ Presented to Mrs. De Norville by Newton residents ” and date inscribed on it, on gold expanding wristlet; a cairngorm stone set in gold, with twenty white pearls set around it, small chip off cairngorm ; a gold heart-shaped trinket, small, ruby in centre, with seven or eight inches of muff-chain attached ; and a ladies’ gold keeper ring : total value, £l6 15s. Identifiable.

Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). —4th ultimo, from a dressing-shed at Parnell Baths, the property of ESME CATHERINE WATTS, 384 Manukau Road, a ladies’ white leather handbag with blue facings; a ladies’ gold wristletwatch, “To Esme from Dad, 12/2/31,” inscribed on back ; and a ladies’ 18 ct. gold signet ring, with “ E.W.” on it: total value, £9 Is. 6d. Auckland. —Between the 14th and 23rd February last, the dwelling of MARY DOROTHY EDWARDS, 18a Brighton Road, Parnell, was broken into and the following stolen : A silver heart-shaped trinket-box with tortoise-shell lid on which are “ S.S.E.” and filigree work; a small oval silver box with blue satin lining ; a silver tea-caddy, about 6 in. high ; a glass scent-bottle with silver stopper, butterfly-wing enamelled on it; a small powder-box to match scent-bottle ; a string of rose quartz beads ; and 2s. in money total value, £l7. Auckland, —On the 24th ultimo, the office of LESLIE GRANT RIMMER, Union Buildings, Customs Street, was broken into and the following stolen : A canvas money-bag, branded “L. G. Rimmer, Ltd.,” containing forty-three £1 notes; about four 10s. notes; and about £l4 7s. in silver and copper: total value, £59 7s. Id. Money-bag only identifiable.

On the 2nd ultimo, the dwelling of GORDON FOULIS RUSSELL, 83 Arney Road, Parnell, was broken into and the following stolen : A gentlemen’s brown suit, size 4, “ Hugh Wright ” on coat-tag ; a gentlemen’s doublebreasted navy-blue nap overcoat, half belt., made by “ George Court ” ; a grey felt Borsalino hat; a brown attache-case, “ R. W. Morrow, Ltd.,” in gilt letters on top of case ; a nickleplated clock; an Auckland Post-office Savings-bank book, No. 497055; and a Northern Co-operative Building Society book, group 15, sharffNos. 206-208, in name of G. Pukekohe. —3rd February last, from a coat in Patumahoe Hall, the property of CRAIG SMITH, Paerata, a cheque (recovered) for £2 2s. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about twenty-one, height 5 ft. 11 in., medium build, dark complexion ; dressed in a navy-blue suit and hat. On the 17th February the cheque was cashed at the Wallace Supplies, Ltd., Pukekohe.

Pukekohe. 3rd February last, the property of the NEW' ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Defence Department), a -303 Lee Enfield magazine rifle, No. 939.; value, £3 10s. Identifiable. 2*5/ LJ/**)<-/

Opotiki.— the 25th and 27th ultimo, from a camp at Tablelands, the property of WILLIAM MARTIN, a Canadian police overcoat, made of rubber and silk, edging of corduroy around collar, left pocket torn, five fasteners in front; a ladies’ red rubber coat; a pair of gentlemen’s boots, size 7 ; an alarm clock; a gold bar brooch ; and a ladies’ silver watch, “ Fine Silver ” on inside of case, basket of flowers and roses engraved on case: total value, £6 15s. Identifiable.

New Plymouth. the 16th ultimo, from the dwelling of MAVIS WILSON, Angus Boardinghouse, Gill Street, 2s. 6d. in money. Not identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about twenty-five, height about 5 ft. 5 in., slight build, fair hair, long face, sharp features; wearing a dark suit, light-grey cap, and white canvas shoes.

Between the Ist and 2nd instant, the shop of RONALD BRICE, Moana Street, was broken into and the following stolen : A quantity of cigarettes and tobacco of assorted brands ; a razor strop, Moose brand, marked “J. T. Brice, Palmerston North,” several cuts in it; a.Puma razor with white handle, blade discoloured with stain ; a Victor razor with brown tortoise-shell handle ; and Is. 9d. in money : total value, £ll 6s. Wellington.— Between the 12th and 13th ultimo, the shop of THOMAS KILPIN, 66 Ghuznee Street (trading as Central Meat Mart) was broken into and the following stolen : A safe (recovered) ; a cheque for £l7 14s. 2d. on the National Bank, Te Aro, No. L. 19293, drawn by N. Clout and payable to Central Meat Co. ; a cheque for 12s. 9d. on the Union Bank of Australia, No. 2 L 058803, drawn by New Zealand Soap Co., and payable to T. A. Wheeler; a cheque for £ls 12s. 2d. on the National Bank of New Zealand, drawn by F. Nelson.— Between the 24th and 26th ultimo, the premises of Messrs. DEE AND SONS. Trafalgar Street, were broken into and the following stolen : Two brown worsted suits, size 5, Sincerity brand; two dark-brown felt hats; two neglige shirts ; and 3J yards of Soltairc tweed with ticket attached, marked “ W.F./S. £8 10s. Park 4 318 Dee and Sons” ; total value, £lB 10s. Identification doubtful.

Nelson. —Between the Ist November and Ist January last, from a hut near Brook Street Quarry, the property of LOUIS JACOB FRANK, 108 Tasman Street, a -22 calibre Winchester pea - rifle; and about seventy-five rounds of ammunition : total value, £1 ss. Rifle only identifiable.

Greymouth.— 2nd ultimo, from a room in the Victoria Boardinghouse, Tainui Street, the property of ARTHUR ROBERT KING, a gentlemen’s gold-filled wristlet-watch, “ Warranted 10 Years,” “ 38333,” and “ 3642 F.” on inside of back case ; and a razor with white handle, “ King Cutter ” stamped on blade, and “H. Booker ” on handle: total value, £3 2s. 6d. Identifiable.

Christchurch. —27th February last, from a dressing-shed at Lancaster Park, the property of LESLIE GOVE WILLIS, 60 Somme Street, a gentlemen’s 9 ct. gold Rolex hunting watch, with “L. G. Willis, Akaroa,” and “ Rotherham Sports, 1929/1930,” engraved on inside; a 9 ct. gold heavy double watch-chain ; a medal, with “ L. G.
