Auckland.2nd ultimo, from the shop of HERBERT ERNEST FORDE, 8 Westbourne Road, Remuera, a ladies’ small gold wristlet-watch, movement No. 37567, “ To Florence from Vin, 21/11/30” engraved on back; value, £5. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to John Macdonald, age about twelve, native of New Zealand, medium build. Four boys called at complainant’s shop and after they left the watch was missing. Suspect endeavoured to sell the watch to a second-hand dealer to whom he gave a fictitious address.

Auckland. —On the 18th ultimo, from the dwelling of JOHN RICHARD SUTTON, 146 St. John Road, Remuera, a gold heart-shaped locket, about 4 in. long, set with a turquoise in centre, with five small pearls around it; about thirty cigarettes ; two cigars ; and tooth-paste : total value, £1 15s. Locket identifiable.

Napier. —l9th August last, the property of JONES SHOE CO., Hastings Street, a pair of ladies’ brown Bostook shoes, size 5 ; a pair of ladies’ black patent shoes, size 4, Dainty Step brand ; a pair of ladies’ brown glace shoes, Clark brand, size s£; and a pair of ladies’ brown Court shoes with buckle, “ D. T. and Co.” branded on soles : total value, £6 Bs. Not identifiable. Suspicion is.attached to Basil Harry Fleming, referred to in Police Gazette, 1933, page 602. and Photographs,

1923, page 9, and Taylor or Lamont, referred to in Police Gazette, 1933, page 602. In complainant’s shop one of the suspects requested to be shown some shoes while the other suspect wandered round to the other side of the partition, and it was subsequently discovered that the property had been stolen. They also stole by a similar method from the shop of Hallenstein Brothers a gentlemen’s navy-blue serge suit, size 5, “ H.B. Clothing Factory ”on coat-hanger; and 3Jyd. of navy-blue Indigo serge ; value, £5 19s. 6d. Not identifiable.

Hastings. On the Bth instant, from the dwelling of ELLEN JOSEPHINE COLLINS, Braeburn House, King Street, a ladies’ grey leather handbag, size about 10 in by 7 in., two compartments, zip fastener; a ladies’ 9 ct. gold Baume wristletwatch, with expanding wristlet, “ E.J.C.” engraved on back ; and £lO in money : total value, £l7. Wellington. —On the 18th instant, the dwelling of NANCY FLETCHER, 20 Ariki Road, was broken into and the following stolen: A ladies’ 22 ct. gold ring, set with three large rubies and four small diamonds in claw setting, centre ruby missing, diamonds set in pairs; an old-fashioned gold wedding ring, with diamond-shape pieco of gold soldered on top in which is set a small ruby in centre ; a Queen Victoria 45.-piece ; and £3 in money : total value, £lO. Identification doubtful.

Portobello. — the 14th and 19th ultimo, from a room in the Portobello Hotel, the property of EDNA MAY FULCHER, a ladies’ 18 ct. gold ring, set with five diamonds in claw setting; and als ct. gold ring, set with four canarycoloured diamonds in claw setting, one of which is missing at end : total value, £33. Identifiable.

Dunedin. — 14th ultimo, from the Criterion Hotel, the property of ROBERT EDWARD LERRIGO, 52a Moray Place, a gentlemen’s dark-fawn overcoat, fit a man about 5 ft. 7 in., Raglan sleeves, straps on cuffs, lined with brown mercerized twill; and a white handkerchief, with “R” on it: value, £lO 10s.
