Mount Albert. 3rd September last, for indecently exposing himself within the view of Marjorie Jones, 38 Lloyd Avenue, Wan (name unknown), age about twenty-three, height 5 ft. 9 in., medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair with long curly fringe; dressed in dark trousers and grey cardigan (no hat). No warrant.

The coat was stolen from a motor-car in High Street and pawned for £1 ss. No warrant.

Auckland. 4th ultimo, for theft of a suit (recovered), and a purple and white striped elastic-belt, with square buckle: total value, £4 11s., the property of Henry Adam Bowe Ingram, 126 Hobson Street, Leslie Watson (name probably fictitious), age about thirty, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, good build, ruddy complexion ; dressed in a navy-blue suit and felt hat; unkempt appearance. He is suspected of having on the 29th ultimo, taken Norman Leslie Bolitho’s motor-car, value £2OO, from a garage at Stevenson’s Flat and driven it to Nelson, where it was recovered next day. Greymouth. —On or about the sth November last, on warrant for theft of eight gold nuggets (recovered), value £5 95., the property of Joseph Davis, miner, Waiuta, George Ling, age about thirty-nine, height about 5 ft. 10 in., labourer and carpenter, good build, fresh complexion, brown hair going bald, weak eyes and wears glasses with thick lenses; dressed in light-grey trousers, fawn brown overcoat, and dark-brown felt hat, and wears a gold ring, with heart and hand on either side. The offence was committed whilst accused was employed by complainant to do some work about the latter’s hut. Subsequently the gold was recovered, having been sold to J. Cmoksy licensed/ gold-dealer, Greymouth. 3

Oamaru. —2lst November last, for obtaining credit by fraud, Holland (name probably fictitious). Accused obtained a pair of Luna 8 x 32 binoculars, value £5 155., from Harold Lightband, Ltd., Merchants, Christchurch, by falsely representing per telephone that he was a guest at the Queen’s Hotel, Oamaru, and required the binoculars urgently as he was going to the races. The binoculars were delivered to a clerk at the hotel, who placed them in a letter-rack, from which they were removed presumably by accused. They are described as : Magnification x 8, effective diameter of object glass 32 mm., emergent pencil 4 mm., relative illumination 16, weight 24£ oz., size 6£ in. wide and 41 in. high, enclosed in new light-brown leather case. Accused may be identical with Man (name unknown), referred to in Police Gazette, 1932, page 690, who unlawfully got a pair of binoculars from Frederick John Townsend, Dunedin.

Dunedin. Bth November last, on warrant for false pretences, James Parker, alias Walter James Parker, referred to in Police Gazette, 1932, page 271, and Photographs, page 45. Accused obtained £1 from Bruce Edward Stephen Tait, 9 Burnett Street, Caversham, by falsely representing that a motor-bicycle (recovered, the property of WiUiam Arneil) was his own property
