PROPERTY STOLEN.
Auckland. —On the 11th instant, the dwelling of WILLIAM MORTON, 95 Symonds Street, was broken into and the following stolen : Two money-boxes, issued by the Auckland Savings-bank, Nos. 891 and 983, containing about £3 in money ; a gold keeper ring, slightly chased ; a gold dress ring, ' set with about seven rubies and diamonds; and a number of British and foreign coins: total value, £ls. Identification doubtful.
Napier.- —Between the 9th and 10th ultimo, from a cabin on the H.M.S. “ Dunedin,” the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Naval Department) a singlehand stop-watch, No. 356213 and broad arrow on back of case ; value, £5. Identifiable.
Dannevirke. —Between the 23rd and 24th instant, the shop of LESLIE HASTINGS INGRAM, 6 High Street, was broken into and the following stolen : A quantity of tobacco and cigarettes, assorted brands ; and £2 in money : total value, £3B 18s. Not identifiable.
Masterton. Between the 25th and 31st ultimo, from a shed, the property of GEORGE BARR, Queen Street, a Panther motor-cycle, engine No. 1967/A, may be 1914 model, no registration-plates, single cylinder, railroad-tire on front wheel, Goodyear tire on rear wheel; value, £4. Identifiable.
Upper Hutt. About 14th July, 1931, the property of ADAM KING JEWETT, Main Road, a "44 calibre sixchambered American Bulldog revolver, several parts missing ; value, 10s. Identifiable.
Wellington. —On the 14th ultimo, the dwelling of ELLEN ROSETTA BREEDON, 24 Roy Street, Newtown, was broken into and the following stolen : An 18 ct. gold engagement ring, set with three sapphires and six diamonds in claw setting; and a dress ring set with three emeralds (one of which is missing) and eight small diamonds in claw setting : total value, £lO. Identifiable.
Wellington. the sth and 6th instant, the shop of THAWLEY AND SUTHERLAND, 67 Molesworth Street, was broken into and about 10 lb. of tobacco and about five thousand cigarettes of various brands stolen : total value, £23 4s. 9d. Not identifiable.
Wellington. —On the 2nd instant, the shop of ALBERT WILLIAM SLATER, 24 Kilbirnie Crescent, was broken into and a quantity of cigarettes and tobacco, assorted brands, stolen ; total value about £32. Not identifiable.
Dunedin. Between the 17th and 18th instant, the premises of WILLIAM LAWRENCE HIGGINS, storekeeper, Waikouaiti, was broken into and the following stolen : A quantity of tobacco, assorted brands ; a Yale and Towne padlock, No. 12737 ; four Leader pipes ; thirty-five pairs of gentlemen’s Mosgiel and Roslyn socks ; three pairs of gentlemen’s whipcord trousers ; three pairs of gentlemen’s gabardine trousers ; four pairs of gentlemen’s grey worsted trousers, Petone brand; four pairs of gentlemen’s grey saddle-tweed trousers (all trousers sizes 4 and 5) ; a gentlemen’s light-grey worsted vest; six gentlemen’s grey flannel shirts; three wire-twist shirts ; two pairs of boots, size 7 ; a quantity of tea; tinned fruit, &c. : total value, £35 14s. 4d. Padlock only identifiable.
