Between 11th and 14th March last, a bale of Romney crutchings, branded “ Aomarama, No. 3 G.J.,” value £4 10s., the property of George Jameson, stationowner, Maraekakaho, was stolen from a wool-shed at the owner’s station. Suspicion is attached to A. Peard (name probably fictitious), age about forty-five, height 5 ft. 10 in., strong build, light-brown hair; talkative: and Man (name unknown), of smalMlight build, with sharp features. These men, on the 14th a quantity of crutchings to Butcher Bros., wO6l-buyers„ (famnmeadows. and also sold other lots of wool which are §Bp|Sdqbd3O'-he identical with wool stolen from wool-sheds in Sherpden district. Wellington. 23rd March last, for theft of a black leather wallet, containing three New Zealand £5 notes, four £1 notes, £9 in English notes, and a bank-draft for £IOO on the Bank of Westminster, Somerset, issued by the Bank of New Zealand, Blenheim, the property of Walter John Jacobs, Man (name unknown), age thirty, height 5 ft. 6 in., stout build, ruddy' complexion; dressed in a brown suit. Complainant was en route to England when he met at Wellington the suspect and two other men, with whom he became friendly. The suspect stated that he had some parcels to get, and complainant gave him his wallet and contents to pay for them. No warrant.
