Auckland. —28th December last, on warrant for false pretences, J. JakueS (name probably fictitious), age about twentyfour, height 5 ft. 6 in., medium build, fresh complexion, fair hair ; wearing dark velour overcoat and grey felt hat; round smiling face. Accused obtained £3 from Marguerite Smith, cashier, Marriotts Ltd., Newmarket, by means of a valueless cheque for that amount.

Auckland. 3rd instant, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for two months in default of paying £lB arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Robert Ralfe Cavaye, age thirty-five, height 6 ft., bushman, native of Australia, strong build, dark complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, portion of one left finger missing, profusely tattooed on arms; usually dressed, in a na#y-telue suit. Napier. —l2th January last, on warrant of commitment to Napier Prison for three months in default of paying £34 Bs. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Charles Henry Bartlett, age forty-eight, height 5 ft. 4 in., carpenter, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion and hair, grey eyes, small face, thin features ; usually dressed in grey trousers, sports coat, ami grey cap, and always keeps his shirt at ned?.^ ZS/z/j^

Patea. — 17th January last, for unlawfully using a motorcycle, Kenneth Jack Fryer, referred to in Police Gazette, 1930, page 548, and Photographs, 1929, page 2. The motorcycle was taken from Manutahi (where it is known that the suspect was endeavouring ,to obtain a “lift” to New Plymouth), and was subsequently recovered at New Plymouth. On the 19th January last the suspect obtained from a member of the Hospital Board at New Plymouth an order for bed and breakfast. No warrant. _ - /A / / . teoW /w V

Petone.— September last, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £4 Is. balance of fine and costs for being intoxicated while in charge of a vehicle, Marjorie Irene Sparge, age thirty, height 5 ft. 4 in., waitress and housemaid, native of America, slight build, sallow complexion, brown hair, grey eyes ' dteuJaZ // /X

Wellington. — H. Lawson, false pretences : It has been ascertained by the Wellington police that he is identical with William Cedric Storm, alias Thomas Bernard Harrison, alias Harold Lawson, who at Sydney (Australia) on the 11th February, 1932, was sentenced to two years on three charges of false pretences.
