JOHN-BIGGS, 23 Weston Avenue, a leather suede note-case, size 4 in. by 3 in., containing a crossed cheque for £1 15s. on the Bank of New Zealand, payable to I. K. St. John-Biggs Studios, signed “ Kodak Ltd.” ; a railway ticket, with complainant’s name on it ; two farthings ; and £5 12s. 7d. in money : total value, £7 10s. Identifiable except money.

Between the 19th and 20th December last, from a motor-car at the Geyser Hotel, the property of JOHN HUMPHRIES, solicitor, Napier, a gentlemen’s pepper-and-salt coloured raincoat, with silk lining, may have “ T. Parket and Co.” on tag ; and a dark-green heavy woollen striped rug : total value, £l2. Identifiable.

Port Awanui. —On the 30th ultimo, the dwelling of ALICE PARKER, Tikitiki, was broken into and the following stolen : A metal cash-box, size 10 in. by 6 in., containing two Post-office Savings-bank books, Gisborne, Nos. S. 17853 and 75890, in names of Charles Parker and Charles Edwin Parker respectively a will made out by C. O. Parker; a marriage license of C. O. Parker; two birth certificates of C. O. W. Parker, made out at Fiji; a lease of Tikitiki Accommodationhouse, signed “ A Parker ” and “ Waiapu Farmers’ Co-op.” ; two insurance policies; four Diggers’ Art Union tickets; a ladies’ gold ring, set with diamonds and pearls ; a gold muffchain ; and a half-sovereign : / total value, £3. Identifiable except money.

Hastings. On the 21st November last, the dwelling of ANNIE RACHEL LASSEN, 909 Frederick Street, was broken into and the following stolen : A ladies’ small Swiss 15 ct. gold wristlet-watch, with expanding wristlet ; a ladies’ small silver wristlet-watch, with leather wrist-strap ; and a ladies’ 15 ct. gold-band ring, set with three large pale green topaline stones: total value, £2O 15s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about thirtyone, height about 5 ft. 9 in., medium build, fresh complexion, fair hair; wearing a dirty light-grey suit, bluish-grey felt hat, and white canvas shoes.

Wellington. During the night of the 6th instant, the dwelling of DR. Wellington.— ultimo, from a suit-case, the property of KEITHA MARA MAIR, nurse, 54 Hill Street, a ladies’ gold wristlet- with dent in rim, “ K.M.M.” on back case, black silk band with hearts, clubs, diamonds, and spades on it; an envelope-shaped brown leather purse, containing a boat-ticket, part of an earring, and 6d. : total value, £3 ss.

Wellington. Between the 25th August and sth December last, from the dwelling of MAUD BOWERBANK, 48 Mulgrave Street, a platinum pendant, about size of one shilling-piece, set with diamonds in platinum filigree work with pearl in centre, on fine platinum neck-chain; value, £3O. Identifiable.

Between the 23rd and 24th ultimo, a store, the property of JOHN PYE AND CO., Rakaia, was broken into and the following stolen : A -22 calibre Stevens Favourite rifle, No. W. 123 ; two grey blankets ; and 7s. in money: total value, £4 16s. 6d. Rifle only identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about twenty-four, height about 5 ft. 6 in., medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair; wearing light-coloured trousers, slightly darker coat (no hat). He was staying at the Britannia Hotel, Christchurch, under the name Sims, On the night of the offence he was absent from the hotel, but returned on the following day and stated that he was visiting his brother at Rakaia, who is believed to be Robin Mori ghan, referred to in “ Persons wanted,” this issue. Christchurch. —On the 3rd ultimo, the premises of IVAN DOUGLAS WOOD, 34 Beverley Street, were broken into and the following stolen : A ladies’ fawn crepe de Chine rock, with two jade brooches attached; a ladies’ tennis frock ; a ladies’ double-bar brooch, with diamond in centre and pearl on each side ; a diamond turquoise brooch, about 1J in. long, set with about twenty-five stones in antique setting; a child’s cream cane basket on castors, lined with pink satin and white muslin ; a ladies’ pink Shetland wool dressing-gown, lined with pink chiffon and edged with swansdown; a ladies’ pink and white brocade satin bridge coat, with white fur collar; a pink muslin evening frock ; twelve yards of rose chiffon ; four yards of pink crepe de Chine ; four pairs of ladies’ shoes, size 4 ; a ladies’ green leather handbag ; three sets of table-mats ; and a quantity of ladies’ underwear : total value, £SB ,3s. Timaru. —Between the 16th and 30th ultimo, the dwelling of JOHN DOUGLAS ERASER, 4 College Road, was broken into and the following stolen : A navy-blue suit, “ Superior Suit Co.” on tag ; a fawn waterproof overcoat; a white shirt with blue stripes, Litchfield brand ; two double blankets ; a single blanket; two single white sheets ; a clothes-brush with “ Cameron ” on back ; a brown leather portmanteau, size about 30 in. by 12 in. ; a gold-leaf pearl brooch ; a goldstar pearl pendant; a gold neck-chain ; &c. : total value, £26.
