Kaikohe. —26th December last, from a motor-car, the property of BRUCE HARRY CONSTABLE, Swanson, a Columbia portable gramophone, in black case, three screws missing from top plate ; and nine gramophone records : total value, £ll. Gramophone identifiable.

Auckland. — 7th December last, from 10 Ponsonby Road, the property of ERNEST ARNOLD, 1 Arnold Street, Freeman’s Bay, a ukelele, white ivory round top and bottom, four strings, bridge slightly damaged, ticket inside with “ Hawaiian Ukelele ” on it, in a brown leather case ; value £1 10s. Identifiable.

Auckland. Between the 25th and 26th November last, the property of MARY WATSON, Owhango, a ladies’ black dress with blue stripes, white collar ; a ladies’ gold wristletwatch, with thin leather wristlet, glass on dial cracked : total value, £2 10s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Robert Landy, alias Lundy, alias Ray, alias Landry, referred to in Police Gazette, 1932, page 40, and Photographs, 1928, page 73. The complainant gave suspect accommodation for the night, and after he left the property was missing.

Huntly.—Between the 24th December last and 6th ultimo, the office of William Barclay, Inspector of Mines, was broken into and the following, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Mines Department), stolen : A metal chronograph open-face watch, Nd. 249409, made by Stauffer Sons Co., London, “ Littlejohn and Son Ltd.,” on dial, No. 1720 scratched on inside of case ; value, £3. Identifiable.

Hamilton. — Between the 14th and 16th ultimo, from the dwelling of WILLIAM McGREGQR, Rukuhia, a gentlemen’s grey worsted coat and vest, lined with tartan-coloured material; a gentlemen’s gold open-face Botherhams watch ; a gold watch-chain with thin links about in. long ; a gold medal with “ Presented to Wm. McGregor for services rendered Queen Carnival, 1916 ” ; a brown pocket-book, containing miscellaneous papers ; a brown leather pocket-wallet, “ With compliments of Alex Storey, Invercargill, ”on it; a masonic ritual; a cheque-book on the Bank of New Zealand, Palmerston, Nos. 652345 to 652368; containing four cheques, a bank pass-book on Bank of New Zealand, Palmerston, in complainant’s name; a Dunedin Post-office bank-book, No. 162530, with a credit balance of about £7OO ; a sovereign ; a half-sovereign ; and about £8 in notes : total value, £2O 2s. 6d. Portion identifiable.

Rotorua. 4th ultimo, from a dressing-shed at the Blue Baths, the property of GORDON KYDD, 72 Gillies Avenue, Auckland, a gentlemen’s 9 ct. gold open-face Swiss wristletwatch, minute-hand missing; and a black leather purse, containing several small pink receipts with “ S.S. & E.” on them ; and about £1 10s. in money : total value, £3 12s. 6d. Identifiable except money.

Rotorua. —6th ultimo, from a dressing-shed at the Blue Baths, the property of LESLIE JOHN WILLIAMS, 10 Park Place, Wanganui, a gentlemen’s oblong Swiss silver wristletwatch, luminous dial; value, £2 10s. Identifiable.

Rotorua. 3oth December last, from a dressing-shed at the Blue Baths, the property of DAVID RICHARD GARDNER, Ranolf Street, a gentlemen’s gold-plated open-face Swiss wristlet-watch, luminous dial; and 3s. 6d. in money : total value, £2 3s. 6d. Watch only identifiable.

Rotorua. December last, from the Sylvana Dance Hall, the property of THELMA SCOTT, 63 Thompson Street, Wellington, a tapestry bag, size 10 in. by 5 in., containing a motor-driver’s license, issued in Wellington ; a pair of hornrimmed spectacles in case, with “T. M. Scott ” on inside, made by Barry and Sergeant; a small silver compact in leather case, with complainant’s name on it; and a ladies gold Elgin wristlet-watch, No. 2194314 : total value, £l7 ss, Identifiable. fXJL

Wairoa. Between the 19th May and 9th June, 1929, the property of ALEXANDER JAMES WILLIAMS, a -22 calibre seven-chambered revolver, No. 9497 ; value, £l. Identifiable.

Foxton. Between the 16th and 17th December last, the shop of DARCY BALL, Main Street, Foxton, was broken into and the following stolen: A pair of binoculars, made by Pinto, Paris, in light tan case ; a pair of black patent shoes, Monarch brand, size 9 ; a pair of patent shoes, Saracen brand, size 7 ; a pair of black leather shoes, with square toes ; four razors ; a quantity of cigarettes and tobacco ; and £1 4s. in money: total value, £22. Suspicion is attached to Two Men (names unknown) height about 5 ft. 9 in., medium build, both wearing dark overcoats and trousers. They were in possession of a moior-car, which appeared to be a Morris Minor tourer, with dark body and light-coloured wheels. A flax-cutter’s hook, with “ D.M.E.” in ink on it, was found at the scene of the crime.

Wellington. Between the 21st and 23rd ultimo, the dwelling of AGNES JANE QUINTON, 107 Grant Road, was broken into and the following stolen : A dark-brown musquash fur coat, full wrap-over style, skins about 4 in. wide, large cuffs running along seam to elbow, plain brown silk lining, button missing, large roll-collar, patch on top of left sleeve ; a brown musquash fur coat, with brown lining which is machine embroidered for about 12 in. up from hem, one button missing, long roll-collar and cuffs, skins of body run vertically but horizontally round hem, narrow skin inserted down front edge of coat; a silver flank musquash fur coat, floral lining, large roll-collar; a black fur coat, extra O.S. size, soft fur with green broche lining, roll-collar; a large grey single - skin fur necklet, with large tail, probably wolf, with grey rucked lining; a brown fur necklet, Russian Fitch skins, consists of four skins attached end to end (known as a “tie”), tail at end, and tails along length; a green canvas cabin - trunk with wooden hoops, handles at ends, brass lock in centre, size about 30 in. long by 12 in. ; a five-stone half-hoop diamond ring, claw setting, may have “ Newman ” inscribed on inside ; a gentlemen’s gold ring set with a bloodstone, in plain gold setting ; a twocell nickel torch ; a ladies’ navy-blue face-cloth coat, trimmed with fawn-grey fur, patched under left arm, straight back; a ladies’ pink-fawn costume, wool suiting material, short coat, skirt with pleats at sides; and a black and red floral crepe frock, trimmed with red, with a deep cape collar, long sleeves : total value, £ll9 ss. Christchurch. —26th December last, the dwelling of MARY SEFTON MOORHOUSE, 22 Armagh Street, was broken into and the following stolen : A miniature painting of child, in gold frame ; a gold brooch and pendant, each set with a topaz ; a gold-bar brooch, set with about five turquoises ; three ladies’ gold plain-link bracelets ; a round gold brooch, set with a pearl in centre; an old gold brooch, set with a large diamond in centre ; a gold hair - ring, with “ Pierson ” engraved on inside ; a black mourning-ring, set with black stones ; a gold ring, set with a piece of jade in claw setting ; a ladies’ gold ring, set with a cluster of turquoises ; a large round brooch, set with a circle of garnets ; an oval gold brooch, set with a small pearl; a gold brooch, with two golden arrows and leaf, set with rubies : a flexible gold bracelet; a gold mourning-ring, set with enamel; a gold tie-pin, set with an opal; a blue rhinestone necklace ; a rhinestone bracelet and earrings to match ; a ladies’ gold albert watch-chain ; and about £1 in money : total value, £69. The complainant was assaulted and robbed by a Man (name unknown), age about forty-five, medium height and build, fresh complexion ; wearing a dark coat and vest, and fawn felt hat, no collar.

Hale-moon Bay. —Between November and December last, the dwelling of THOMAS HARDWICK, was broken into and the following stolen : A Schneider rifle. No. 146. a jackplane ; a smoothing-plane ; two gallons of red paint, branded “ Nomore Rust Red Roof ” ; a number of butt hinges ; a quantity of nails, &c. : total value, £6 18s. 9d.
