Whangarei.27th ultimo, that proceedings for failing to notify his change of address (Arms Act) may be instituted against him, Garnet Tinsley Jones, motor-lorry driver. On the Ist November, 1921, he registered a six-chambered revolver, No. 2665, and has since disappeared.

Auckland. —l7th April last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for one month in default of paying £1 16s. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of Fanny Swan, William Frederick Swan, age forty, height 5 ft. 10 in., native of New Zealand, medium^-build, dark complexion, brown hair and eyes. /fy’% /

Hamilton. l9th ultimo, on warrant for theft of a silver watch, value £6 10s. (recovered), the property of Frank Johnson, Kent Street, Frankton, James Bowman, age about twenty-six, height 5 ft. 6 in., ruddy complexion, dark-brown curly hair ; keeps right hand in trousers pocket ; Irish accent; dressed in a. grey tweed suit (no hat) ; said to be a remittance-man. Rotorua. —7th April last, on warrant for theft of a gentlemen’s bicycle (recovered), value £5, the property of Norman Arthur Verey Emeny, confectioner, H. McKenzie (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-six, height 5 ft. 8 in., medium build, sunken eyes ; thin face, prominent forehead ; dressed in a grey suit and light-grey felt hat. He obtained £1 from a cycle-dealer, and pledged the bicycle as securitfcrt

New Plymouth. 2lst ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, of whom Mary Ella McNeil Johnson, Okau, is the mother, William Weller, age fifty-six, height 5 ft. 9 in., carpenter, native of England, medium build, dark complexion, dark hair turning grey, brown eyes ; scar on left side of chin and nose ; right middle finger deformed. Hawera. llth ultimo, on warrant for false pretences, L. F. Wallace, age twenty-seven, height 5 ft. 3 in., native of New Zealand, slight build, fresh complexion, fair hair, blue eyes. Accused obtained £4 18s. from Steve Grubi, restaurateur, High Street, by means of a valueless cheque for £5, which he tendered in payment of 2s. for a meal. Wellington. —27th April las/, oft Warrant of commitment to Paparua Prison for twenty-four hours in default of paying £1 fine and costs for failing to produce motor-driver’s license, Reginald Phillips, age thirty-three, height 5 ft. 6 in., showman and cook, native of England, fresh complexion, brown hair and eyes ; heart on left forearm ; cross on left upper arm. Wellington. 26th ultimo, that he may be interviewed regarding the paternity and maintenance of the illegitimate child of Ivy Glen, Alfred Rohinsotl, age thirty, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of Scotland, strong build, fresh complexion, auburn hair, blue eyes, large nose. His photograph is filed. Inquiry by the Education Department.

Wellington. —l4th April last, for theft of a gentlemen’s overcoat (recovered), value £2 155., the property of the Union Clothing Co., 160 Lambton Quay, J. Clark (name probably fictitious), age about fifty, height about 5 ft. 9 in., thin build, fair complexion and hair, thin face ; dressed in a grey tweed suit and dirty white or cream cardigan. The coat was stolen from the shop doorway, and sold to a second-hand dealer for 10s. No warrant.

Wellington. 2oth March last, for assault on Mrs. Isobel Northcott, Kan (name unknown), age about twenty-six, height about 5 ft. 9 in., slight build, sallow complexion, dark hair, wart or mole on left eyelid ; dressed in a grey rough suit, light cap, and white sand-shoes. Whilst going over Mount Victoria, on her way home from Wellington Hospital, complainant was assaulted by a man of the description given, : who dealt her a blow on the head with a piece of iron. No warrant.

Wellington. —22nd ultimo, on warrant for failing tc comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Arthur Hirschhorn, age thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 9 in., native of England, slight build, sallow complexion, fair hair, grey eyes ; left wrist slightly crooked ; scar across eyebrow and chin. His photograph is pled. Arrears to 23rd March last, £7 6s.

Greymotjth. — 22nd ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Greymouth Prison for two months in default of paying £52 15s. fid. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of Colin Mearns, in the care of the Education Department, Colin Campbell, age twenty-seven, height 5 ft. 7 in., carpenter, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, fair hair, grey eyes. The warrant is to be returned unexecuted on payment of £lO. •

Greymouth. sth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Greymouth Prison for seven days in default of paying £1 15s. fine and costs for disorderly behaviour, Augustine Stewart McMahon, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 94 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, sallow complexion, lightbrown hair, grey eyes; left forefinger missing; fond of drink ; plausible ; frequently calls on secretaries of Returned Soldiers’ Associations to obtain an order for free board and lodgings. Greymouth. — Ernest Joseph Bisscll, failing to maintain : It has been ascertained, by the Greymouth police that he is a pugilist, at present in Sydney (Australia) under the name Jack O’Malley. He is expected to return to this Dominion shortly. The arrears of maintenance to 31st March, 1929 (when the charge ceased), amounted to £3b Bs/ 7d. Dunedin. 2sth ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Elizabeth Pratley, 73 Bay View Road, John William Pratley, age, thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 4 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, light-grey hair, blue f eyes ; scar behind right ear; small mouth and ears ; crossed in a light-grey suit.
