The coat was stolen from the shop doorway, and sold to a second-hand dealer for 10s. No warrant.

Wellington. 2oth March last, for assault on Mrs. Isobel Northcott, Kan (name unknown), age about twenty-six, height about 5 ft. 9 in., slight build, sallow complexion, dark hair, wart or mole on left eyelid ; dressed in a grey rough suit, light cap, and white sand-shoes. Whilst going over Mount Victoria, on her way home from Wellington Hospital, complainant was assaulted by a man of the description given, : who dealt her a blow on the head with a piece of iron. No warrant.
