Accused obtained a cane suit-case and clothing (value £4 os. 6d.) and ss. 6d. in money from David Elias Corban, merchant, Rora Street, by means of two valueless cheques for £3 6s. 6d. and £l. The cheques were from a cheque-book issued in April, 1929, to R. H. Brown, whose account has since been closed.
