PROPERTY STOLEN.

Rawene. —On the night of the 23rd ultimo, the premises of MARGARET DINNISON LOW-SARJEANT, Beach Road, Kohukohu, was broken into and the following stolen : A fireproof safe, size 26 in. by 18 in. ; a ladies’ 18 ct. gold ring, set with four diamonds ; thirty imitation diamond rings ; two cheque-forms on the Bank of New Zealand, Kohukohu, Nos. 118078 and 118079, signed “U. M. Sarjeant, - per M. Sarjeant ” (amount not filled in) ; three sovereigns ; and about £1 10s. in money : total value, £3O. Portion identifiable.

Wiiangaroa. property of MORRIS KISSIN, a cash-box and cheques (recovered), two £lO notes, sixty-nine £1 notes, and £ls in silver ; total value, £lO4. Not identifiable.

Newton. READ, jeweller, 126 Karangahapc Road, a ladies’ 9 ct. gold wristlet watch with gold expanding wristlet attached, stock number between 50 and 89 scratched on inside of case ; value, £6 10s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Mars (name unknown), age fifty, height 5 ft. 9 in., strong build, cleanshaved ; wearing a dirty grey suit and an old fawn hat ; rough appearance. The suspect, who called at complainant’s shop, requested to be shown some watches, and after his departure the watch was missing.

Auckland. —6th ultimo, from the Prince Arthur Hotel, the property of WILFRED CHARLES WALDREN, 159 Hanover Street, Dunedin, a gentlemen’s blue suit with blue stripe in it, made by Hendry and Sons, Dunedin ; value, £9 10s. Identifiable.

Auckland. the 26th January and 16th February last, from 125 Remuera Road, the property of CHARLES SHANAHAN, a violin, 1926 model; two pieces of carpet : and an adze and handle : total value, £l2. Identification doubtful.

' Auckland. —Between the 19th and 20th ultimo the shop of ELLA MAUDE RENNIE, 6 Espano Flats, St. Kevins Arcade, was broken into and the following stolen : A ladies’ cream georgette frock, floral design with golden-brown daisies, long sleeves, cape collar ; a green, white,, and black georgette frock, long sleeves ; a lime-green heavy georgette frock, cape collar, draped skirt, short in front and long at back ; a green floral taffeta evening frock ; a pink silk evening frock, floral 'design ; a pink-and-blue silk evening frock, floral design ; two woollen cardigans ; several pairs of silk hose ; and a quantity of silk underwear : total value, £23 9s. Identifiable.

Auckland. —4th ultimo, from the Victoria Hotel, the property of COLONEL FRASER, proprietor, a rough-coated Scotch collie pup, age two months, sable colour, black line down back, black face and white tip on tail ; value, £IOO. Paeroa. —Between the 7th and 9th ultimo, from a Fordson tractor, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Railways Department), two Ford motor ignition coils in wooden boxes with “N.Z.R.” burnt on them; value, £1 10s. Identifiable.

Between the-sth and 7th ultimo, from the dwelling of DOROTHY MoGILL, Ranolf Street, a brown musquash fur coat, large size, pieces of old fur joined under cuffs, two fur buttons in front, lined with rose-coloured lining, large rolled collar lined with crepe de Chine ; value, £SO. Identifiable.

Rotorua. — On the 14th ultimo the dwelling of MICHAEL ANDREW SERCEN, Ohinemutu, was broken into and the following stolen : A ladies’ gold wristlet watch, black Roman numerals ; and a -cell electric Winchester torch with dent below reflector : total value, £7 7s. 6d. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Jimmy Loffley, age forty, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, medium build, copper complexion, black hair, brown eyes; a Maori. Pie has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.

' Otorohanga. — 23rd ultimo, from the dwelling of FREDERICK PHILLIPS, solicitor, a gold bamboo bangle, fastens with clasp and small chain ; and a gold wristlet watch with gold expanding wristlet attached, may have “ Craven ” on it: total value, £B. Identifiable. Tauto. —About 17th January last, from a hut, the property of WALTER BRUCE CHARTERIS, Reporoa, a Remington repeating -rifle, No. 667492, 1912 model, magazine-tube missing ; value, £4 10s. Identifiable.

Oiiura. About June, 1924, the property of LORENTZ ANGELL, a -chambered -22 calibre revolver, made by Richardson Arms Co., U.S.A.*; value, £1 10s. Identification doubtful.

Hastings. —Between the 3rd and 4th February last the shop of HENRY SYDNEY BUTTLE RIBBANDS, 401 Selwood Road, was broken into and the following stolen : Four His Master’s Voice portable gramophones, Nos. 17911, 170836, 116580, and 174003, “ The Bristol Piano Company ” stamped in gold letters on each ; total value, £39. Identifiable.

Taihape. Between the 27th June, 1929, and 27th January last, from a timber-mill at Pungataua, the property of C. AND A. ODLIN, LTD., Wellington, a set of pipe-dies, a Little Giant set of stock and dies, a small anvil, a hand-drill, a vice, three small circular saws, eight pulleys, two sets of truck-wheels, &c. ; total value, £94. Identifiable.

Wanganui.Between the 18th and 19th September last, from a shed, the property of LEONARD ELLIOT, farmer, Kai Iwi, four teat-cups, manufactured by Trelear’s Ltd., Hamilton, “ Trelear Ace ” stamped on each cup; value, £5 ss. Identifiable.

WILLIAMSON FILMS (N.Z.), LTD., stolen : Three blue 2s. admission tickets, Nos. 83998, 83999, and 84000 ; a £5 note ; £33 in £1 and 10s. notes ; £36 Is. in silver ; and 2s. lOd. in coppers.
