PERSONS WANTED.

Whang akoa. l2th November last, on warrant for false pretences, G. Burns, age thirty-two, height 6 ft. 1 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, darkbrown hair, blue eyes; dressed in denim trousers and blue coat; good address. Accused obtained £6 from Felix C. Mullions, licensee, Whangaroa Hotel, by means of a valueless cheque for that amount. The photograph of Eugene Byrne, referred to in Police Gazette, 1930, page 876, and Photographs, 1925, page 56, has been identified as that-.of tl^ybffender.

Wellington Prison for three months for default of maintenance, Charles Potier, age thirty - seven, height 5 ft. 3 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, dark complexion, black hair, brown eyes ; dressed in a grey suit and soft felt hat ; a quarter-caste Maori/ smart appearance. /f&id f/Y/W

Hamilton. —16th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Hamilton Prison for seven days in default of paying £2 fine and costs for being found on licensed premises during prohibited hours, Henry John Beck, age fifty-two, height 5 ft. in., engineer, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, dark hair, grey eyes, wide nose, scar over right eye, on forehead, and on right forearm, lump on right shoulder. Rotorua. 2nd ultimo, on warrant, for false pretences, R. E. Ross (name probably fictitious), age about thirty-three, height 5 ft. 9 in., strong build, ruddy complexion, curly black hair, brown eyes, fairly long nose, projecting chin, may have no upper teeth ; dressed in a navy-blue suit and overcoat; quiet manner. Accused obtained £5 ss. from Jeannie Dowling, boardinghouse-keeper, by means of a valueless cheque for £lO, which he tendered in payment of £4 15s. for his accommodation for twelve days.

Gisborne. —29th -November last, on warrant of commitment to Gisborne Prison for seven days in default of paying £1 13s. fine and costs for helpless drunkenness, Alexander McGregor, alias Thomas McGregor, age fifty-seven, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of Scotland, medium build, sallow complexion, black hair, grey eyes ; eaglet and serpent on left forearm, butterfly on left wrist, woman on right forearm, tower on back of left hand. Stratford. ultimo, on warrant for forgery, Basil Wiggins, age twenty-one, height about 5 ft. 6 in., labourer and drover,' native of New Zealand, slight build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, dark eyes ; sharp features, thin nose ; usually dressed in khaki riding-breeches, brown leggings, Norfolk jacket, and light felt hat. Accused forged the signature “ B. Orr ” to a cheque for £3O, and uttered, it to Herbert Yates, outfitter, Broadway, in payment of £lO 3s. lOd. for goods (including a navy - blue suit, which he may be wearing), receiving £l9 16s. 2d. change. The cheque-form was stolen from Bartholomew Orr, who had been staying with accused. Z////J'.

Wellington. — l2th October last, that he may be interviewed regarding theft of a motor-bicycle (recovered), value £BO, the property of Ernest Ware, 44 Hargreaves Street, Thomas Walsh, alias J. Taylor, age about twenty-six, height about 5 ft. 7 in., labourer and canvasser, native of New Zealand, slight build, dark complexion and hair. Stolen from Courtenay Place, the motor-bicycle was subsequently found in possession of Clement Robert Lawson, who, with Ronald Alfred Edward Haylock, has been charged with the offence, and who accused Walsh, alias Taylor, of complicity, inasmuch as the latter made a fictitious receipt purporting to show that Lawson bought the motor-bicycle from J. Hill for £4O. No warrant.

Wellington. loth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for seven days in default of paying £1 15s. balance of fine and costs for being found on licensed premises during prohibited hours, Cecil Drinkwater, age about twentyeight, height 5 ft. 8 in., painter, native of Australia, medium build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes ; usually dressed in a navy-blue suit and blue overcoat. ' He left for Australia on the sth instant.

Christchurch. comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his child, Leslie John Mcllor, alias Louis Duncan, age twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, sallow complexion, black hair, blue eyes; clasped hands, flag, anchor, and heart on right forearm ; clasped hands, ship, lighthouse, and heart on left forearm.
