Accused, who was known as Ray Williams, was a work-mate of complainant’s and occupied the same hut. Dunedin. —Bth ultimo, for wilful damage to advertising notices, the property of the New Zealand Government (Railways Department), two Men (names unknown) about thirty, height about 5 ft. 8 in., medium build, dark complexion and hair, clean-shaved ; dressed in a dark suit: and (2) age about forty, height about 5 ft. 9 in., slight build, fair complexion and hair, clean-shaved ; well dressed in a grey tweed suit and felt hat. The -described men, who may have a greenish-grey Erskine sedan motor-car, were seen in Cromwell Gorge, near Clyde, cutting down advertising notices with an axe and saw. No warrant.
