Auckland. —22nd ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for three months in default of paying £2B 15s. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Percy Arthur Mayes, ago thirty-four, height 6 ft. 1 in., labourer and soldering expert, native of New Zealand, thin build, fair complexion, fair hair going bald, blue eyes, wart on knuckles of each hand. hie is to be released on payment of £26 15s. 3L5/6/30

Auckland. 3rd April last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for two months in default of paying £3 12s. 6d. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife and children, John Thomas Troughear, age forty-four, height 5 ft. 6 in., engineer and mechanic, native of New Zealand, medium build, sallow complexion, fair hair turning grey, grey eyes, round features, husky voice ; a good cornet-player. Auckland. —29th ultimo, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Helen Christina Blows, and four children, 29 Walmer Road, Point Chevalier, Percival Thomas Wlight Blows, age thirty-seven, height. 6 ft., drill instructor, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion and hair, hazel eyes, largo nose and ears, small mouth, cleft in chin ; erect gait; dressed in a navy-blue suit, light-grey felt hat, tan boots or shoes, and navy-blue or grey /Overcoat. outlay /yy/3 o.

Auckland. —26th March last, for assaulting Glagds Rippon, schoolgirl, 35 Elgin Street, Man (name unknown), age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 9 in., medium build, dark complexion, large mouth and nose, thin face ; dressed in a navy-blue suit and hard hat. No warrant.

Auckland. —13th ultimo, on warrant for theft of a blue serge suit (recovered), value £lO, the property of Christian Gunderson, labourer, 61 Hobson Street, Andrew Duncan, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, native of Scotland, medium build, fair complexion, sandy hair, blue eyes, sear on left cheek, dimple in chin ; dressed in a light-grey suit, grey cap, and tan shoes. Howick. sth ultimo, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), Mali Kura, alias Jack Mokara, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. 8-J in., labourer and fisherman, medium build, copper complexion, black hair, brown eyes, flat nose with small mole on left side, little fingers deformed ; a Maori; speaks good English ; erect gait. His arrest is desired. (See Police Gazette, 1930, page 157.) /. . a® Whitianga. 27th December last, on warrant for theft of £2 10s., the property of Norman Archer Wells, butcher, Whitianga, Arthur Horsfieid, age about forty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., hawker, stout build, ruddy complexion, fair hair, bluegrey eyes ; dressed in a brownish-grey suit and felt hat. Accused, who travels in country towns selling mercery and jewellery, &c., received £lO 10s. from complainant for a suit which he said would be made by the Progress Tailoring Co., Auckland. It was subsequently discovered that he converted £2 10s. of the above amount to his own use.

Hastings. 7th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for three months in default of paying £2B 10s. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Bert Ball, age thirty-six, height 5 ft. 5 in., labourer, native of England, medium build, fresh complexion, lightbrown hair, blue-grey eyes, large mouth, scar on left cheek, on bridge of nose, and on left thumb ; usually dressed in a dark suit; slouching gait. * zi/g/sr. / <?an,tUUd. t Z//x/5V f Wanganui. —26th April last, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for two months in default of paying £lB 7s. 6d. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his sister, Ivy Boroman, William John Boroman, alias William James Boraman, age twenty-seven, height 5 ft. 11 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, fair hair, grey eyes, scar on left forearm ; usually well dressed. He was last heard of travelling with a Maori troupe of entertainers. Arrears to 22nd Marclrdast, £37 12s. /UjLs i|J%Uo Dannevirke. —26th April last, on warrant for false pretences, George Grove, alias Arthur Stewart, age about fortyseven, height 5 ft. in., cook and labourer, native of New Zealand, slight build, fair complexion, fair hair turning grey, light-grey eyes; neatly dressed in greyish saddle-tweed trousers, navy-blue coat and vest, and grey felt hat. Accused, who stated that he was employed by Mr. Cole, of Weber, obtained £9 12s. from Davidson and Ormundsen, hardware-merchants, Miller’s Road, by means of a valueless cheque for £l2 Bs. fid. which he tendered in payment of an account for goods previously obtained. Subsequent inquiries elicited that at the time the offence was committed he was employed by Mr. Evans, Weber, and he may be identical with George Groves, alias Williams, alias McKenzie, referred to in Police Gazette, 1920, pages 254 and 332. <£pSL /S///3 $
