Auckland. —3oth April last, from Great South Road, the property of FRANCIS GEORGE HARVEY, engineer, 30 Norana Avenue, a gentlemen’s green-enamelled fixed-wheel B.S.A. bicycle, down-turned handles, Dunlop tires, Bowden back rim cable brake, double sprocket on back wheel, Gnona electric lighting outfit attached ; value, £5. Identifiable.

Auckland. — 28th April last, between Khyber Pass Road and Wellesley Street, the property of HENRY C. McCOY, manager, 4 Gladstone Road, a cheque-book on the National Bank of New Zealand, containing 139 cheques, Nos. D 654342 to D 654480, issued to account of Foley, McCoy, and Prendergast ; value, £1 3s. 2d. Identifiable.

Oneiiunga.On the 24th March last, from the dwelling of ALFRED NICHOLAS, horse-trainer, Mountain Road, Mangere, an 18 ct. gold tiepin, screw top, pearl with yellow tint in centre, surrounded by four diamonds, can be used as a stud ; three woollen Interlock velvette singlets ; two Cambridge brand Luvisca light-blue shirts, size 14£ in. neck ; and 14s. 4d. in money: total value, £39 17s. lOd.. Identifiable except money.

Hamilton. —12th ultimo, from the Esplanade, Ngaruawahia, the property of WILLIAM BUCKLEY, labourer, Princess Street, Ngaruawahia, a 1930 model A.J.S. motorbicycle, painted black, registration No. 33-257, engine No. 136813, Avon tires, electric light and horn ; value, £75 10s. Identifiable.

Putaruru. —Between the sth and 10th April last, from the dwelling of D. O’Sullivan, farmer, Okoroire, the property of HARRY CHITHAM, labourer, an old brown leather purse, containing 13s. in money and a pair of fawn silk socks : total value, 19s. 3d. Purse only identifiable. Suspicion is attached to William Dagg, age twenty, labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion and hair, blue eyes ; dressed in a grey suit, short coat, and baggy trousers. Te Kuiti. — 10th December last, the property of GEORGE DESMOND FLANAGAN, labourer, 5 Sheridan Street, a letter addressed to “ Mrs. Flanagan, 5 Sheridan Street, Ponsonby, Auckland,” containing a£s note and a£l note. Not identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Fred Eketone (name probably fictitious), dark swarthy complexion, black hair, dark eyes, thin face, sharp, features, prominent nose ; dressed in a navyblue coat and vest, no hat. The suspect was in a blue sedan motor-car on the Kurakura Road, Kopaki, and was given the letter to post.

Wairoa. —Between the 17th and 18th ultimo, the store of VIVIAN BLUCK, storekeeper, Morere, was broken into and the following stolen : A grey rug with squares, fringes on each end ; a pair of gentlemen’s black and white check hose ; two pairs of silk and wool hose ; three fancy ties, assorted colours; a single-blade -handled pocket-knife, with / “Johnson Western Works, Sheffield,” on blade; and a f quantity of Ardath, Three Castles, and Players cigarettes : ' total value, £4 3s. 4d. Suspicion is attached to (1) David Maurice Morgan, referred to in Police 72 Gazette, 1930, page 390; (2) Frank Perry (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-four", height 5 ftl\ 5 in., native of \ England, strong build, fair complexion and hair,; scar between I left ring and middle finger and on left side of chest; lump 5 and scar on back of head ; shabbily dressed in a black coat, brownish trousers, black shoes, grey cap, and /grey overcoat; A Yorkshire accent; and (3) Reg Morgan (name probably / fictitious), age about twenty-seven, height ft. 10 in., slight build, fair complexion and hair ; dressed in a brownish suit, Oxford bag trousers, soft collar and tie, and wearing a grey , overcoat. They are also suspected of having unlawfully taken from Whakatane a Chrysler motor-car, which has since 5 been found abandoned near Wellington. / V

Napier. —3lst December last, from a motor-car in Merschell Street, the property of DOUGLAS NELSON LANE, farmer, Havelock North, a pair of binoculars, “ Negretti & Zambra ” stamped on them, in a brown leather case with “ D.N.L.” in black letters on it; value, £2O. Identifiable.

Napier.—l2th January last, the premises of EDWIN CHARLES BIRIE, wood and coal and grain merchants, were broken into, and the following stolen : A small green safe, size 3 ft. by 2 ft., containing a Post Office Savings-bank book, No. 131707, in the name of Percy Norman Player; and £6 2s. 6d. in money. Identifiable except money. Suspicion is attached to Ronald Hugh Mclntosh, referred to in Police Gazette, 1930, page 350, and Bernard Brummell Gordon Wilder moth, alias Roy Wilson, referred to in Police Gazette, 1930, page 371. They have been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.

Woodville.—Between the 23rd and 24th ultimo, from a room in the Commercial Hotel, the property of CHARLES ARTHUR SANSOM, licensee, a brown leather pocket-wallet; a £5 Bank of New South Wales note ; twenty-nine £1 Bank of New Zealand notes ; two 10s. notes ; a twenty dollar gold piece ; three Maori greenstone charms ; an aluminium round disc with “ Charles Arthur Sansom, St. Heliers Bay Hotel, Exhibition, Ch. Ch., 1906-07,” on it; and a certificate of registration for a revolver issued at Woodville, No. 280814 : total value, £4O. Identifiable except money.

Wellington.— sth ultimo, from Victoria Street, the property of ALFRED STEVENSON, sawmill hand, 180 Adelaide Road, a gentlemen’s -enamelled free-wheel bicycle, No. 2175, Couchman transfers, Dunlop saddle, rat-trap pedals top bar slightly bent; value, £3. Identifiable.

Wellington. — On the 27th ultimo, the shop of ANTONI JANIS, hairdresser and tobacconist, 158 Vivian Street, was broken into and the following stolen : Twenty cigarette companions in brown covered cases, some with brown velvet inlaids, containing E.P.N.S. cigarette case, ash-tray, and cigarette holder; twelve Escort brown square tobacco pouches, with two clasps; twelve light-tan tobacco pouches, round and half-moon shaped with silver button ; nine single E.P.N.S. Alysia cigarette cases with spring; twelve silver - mounted Ropp pipes, No. 5 A.B. ; eight Modoso razors with white tortoise-shell handles ; four Bengal razors ; twelve Aonian cigarette holders in light-brown cases ; twelve rough-handled pocket - knives, with “A. & A. Mfg. Co., Soligen, Germany,” stamped on them ; five, cigarette lighters with “ Perfectus D.R.G.M.” stamped on them ; ten dark-tan Loewe pipes ; nine silver-mounted light-tan coloured Escortpipes, bowl shape with long stems; nine silver-mounted Civic pipes in cases ; three Rotary companion cases with crocodile pouch and pipe enclosed ; bottles of brilliantine ; bottles of shampoo ; safety-razor blades ; a quantity of cigars ; cigarettes ; tobacco ; and £4 2s. Id. in money: total value.- 11 14s. 2d. Identification^doubtful.

Nelson. Between the Bth and 9th April last, from Trafalgar Street, the property of JAMES VINCENT GARRET O’SULLIVAN, college-boy, Tahuna, a gentlemen’s Raleigh bicycle, black-enamelled with green lines, straight handles, black rubber grips, Fort Dunlop tire on front wheel, Demos tire on rear wheel, rubber pedals ; value, £5. Identifiable.

Blenheim. — Ist ultimo, from the dwelling of WILLIAM HENRY CONGDON, labourer, Grovetown, a gentlemen’s silver open-face watch, screw back, J. R. Mac Queen ”on dial, “ W. R. Congdon ” scratched on inside back case ; and a gentlemen’s silver chain (similar to illustration No. 15 in Police Gazette, 1911, page 2): total value, £3 6s. 6d. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Louis Hilton, referred to in Police Gazette, 1927, page 379. He has been interviewed but no evidence resulted.

Rakaia.On the night of the 9th ultimo, the premises of CROMIE BROS., garage-proprietors, were broken into, and the following stolen : A cheque for 18s. on the Bank of New Zealand, Rakaia, No. 387725, drawn by the Rakaia Football Club, and signed by L. S. Street and Charles Evison, payable to Geo. Cromie; a cheque for 145., drawn by Dalgety and Co., Ashburton, and payable to Cromie Bros.; a cheque, No. 387870, on the Bank of New Zealand, Rakaia, drawn by J. H. Weaver, and payable to Cromie Bros.; a Post Office Savingsbank book, No. 414065 ; two safe keys ; a two-cell American; torch; and £5 10s. 9d. in money : total value, £7 12s. 3d. Dunedin. —Between the 12th and 14th April last, from a room in Woods Private Hotel, Rattray Street, the property of HENRY MANGHAM, four £lO notes. Not identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Jack Rogers, age twenty height 5 ft. 3 in., farm labourer, medium build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, sharp face ; dressed in a darkgrey suit with black stripes, soft collar and tie, black shoes. He may be identical with Jack Rogers, referred to in Police Gazette, 1930, page 57. The suspect occupied the same room as complainant, and left leaving bis .luggage behind.

Dunedin. —On the night of the 23rd ultimo the premises of BUTTERFIELD’S LTD. were broken into, and the following stolen : A Phillips four-valve table-model wireless receivingset, serial No. 9159, with a Scvenette loud speaker attached ; a gentlemen’s silver hunting stop - watch with horseman jumping hurdle on one side and horse’s head on the other side, “ D.A.S.C. President’s Handicap, 100 yards, M. C. Butterfield, 1905,” engraved inside, No. Derby 55588, jeweller’s No. P. 13517 ; a gentlemen’s crocodile-leather pocket-wallet containing papers, with “ F. O. Gillam ” on them ; a Columbia portable gramophone, eighteen 10 in. H.M.V. records, including “ Dream Mother,” “ Reaching for Some One,” “ A Garden in the Rain,” “ My Heart is Bluer than Your Eyes,” “ Outside,” “ One Sweet Kiss,” “ The Moonlight March,” &c.; and 9s. in money and postal stamps : total value, £62 2s. 6d. Balclutiia. — On the 3rd ultimo the dwelling of the Hon. DAVID THOMAS FLEMING, Renfrew Street, was broken into and the following stolen : A brown leather pocket-book containing a Union Steamship Co.’s free steamer-ticket with “ Hon. D. T. Fleming ” written across it; an Onoto fountain pen with two gold bands, one of which is scratched ; a small folding ivory foot-rule, broken and repaired with a small brass band ; and about 6s. in money : total value, £2 3s. 6d.
