Auckland. — Reuben Thomas Wallace, alias F. Brooks, incest and failing to maintain, has been located by the Sydney (New South Wales) police. He is employed by Waters Cash Order Store, Denison House, 380 George Street, Sydney, and resides at 15 Cumberland Street, Merry lands. (See Police Gazette, 1927, page 872.) (P. 27/1739.)

Ohaeawai.29th August last, for false pretences, Walter Joseph Bunting; age thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 9 k in., land and stock agent, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, brown hair and eyes, scar on abdomen; dressed in a dark-grey suit and felt hat, and carries a small suit-case. Accused obtained £1 from Ivan Pearson, garage-proprietor, by means of a valueless cheque on the Commercial Bank of Australia, Auckland, for £2 10s., which he tendered to complainant in payment of £1 10s., his fare by motor-car from Ohaeawai to Paihia. At Russell on the 28th and 30th August last he obtained £lO and £7 respectively from John Parker English, hotelkeeper, by means of valueless cheques on the Tauranga branch of the above-mentioned bank (where he had a small balance in his account), the manager of which was unable to notify him of the state of his account. Rotorua.—lßth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for one month in default of paying £ll fine and costs for being intoxicated in charge of a motor-cycle, Thomas Clark, age twenty-two, height 6 ft., labourer, Maori, strong build, copper complexion, black hair, brown eyes; sometimes dresses like a cowboy, with broad-brimmed hat.
