Hikurangi. l2th July last, from the dwelling of MINNIE SMITH, George Street, a ladies’ black leather hand-bag, mounted with green enamel; £23 in money; and a cheque for £23 2s. 10d., No. 2492, drawn on the Bank of New South Wales, Wellington, by the Mutual Life and Citizens’ Insurance Society. Identifiable except money.

Auckland. llth April last, from the New Plymouth Rail-way-station, the property of JOHN SHAW, horse-driver, Ellerslie, a straight steel-lined whip about 3 ft. 6 in. long, gold band round handle, gold knob on butt with “ Presented to J. Shaw from M. Moodabe ”on it; value, £5. Identifiable.

Ngaruawahia.— On or about the 24th July last, from the dwelling of MARY HICKLING, a plain gold band ring, and a ring set with a rofy of five diamonds and a row of five rubies (one missing) ; total value, £l4. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Charles Hickling, age about twenty-six, height about 5 ft. 6 in., ship’s baker, native of New Zealand, stout build, fresh complexion, dark hair, teeth missing.

Frankton Junction. 23rd ultimo, from the dwelling of GILBERT BAIRD, farmer, Grand View Road, a pair of black lace-up boots, size 8 ; about £5 in cash ; and a chequebook on the Bank of New Zealand, Hamilton North, No. 121765-121788, containing five or six blank cheques : total value, £6. Identifiable except money. Suspicion is attached to Charles William Wahle, alias Mcßae, age twenty - five, height 6 ft. -J in., butcher, native of New Zealand, slight build, fair complexion and hair. Petone. 29th June last, from the dwelling of JAMES EVANS, engineer, 32 Nelson Street, £lO and a pair of ladies’ grey suede gloves ; value, 15s. 6d. Suspicion is attached to Violet Jones (who was staying with complainant’s mother at the time of the theft), age seventeen, height 5 ft. 5 in., choco-late-packer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion and hair, brown large eyes, slight defect in one eye ; wearing a black coat with grey fur round bottom. Her parents are said to live at Auckland.

During the night of the 10th ultimo COLWILL’S CANADIAN FUR STORE, 205 High Street, was broken into and the following stolen therefrom : A brown fox-fur tie with nigger-brown crepe de Chine lining ; a light fox-fur tie ; a kit fox-fur tie with slate-coloured crepe de . Christchurch.— -During the night of the 24th ultimo the shop of PERCY WILLIAM MEMMOTT, bootmaker, 298 a Selwyn Street, Spreydon, was broken into and the following stolen therefrom : A pair of tan Balmoral boots, Nos. 515 and 412 ; a pair of tan Derby shoes, Nos. 471 and 412 ; three pairs of tan Oxford shoes, Nos. 714-412, 797-412, and 723-412 a pair of patent-leather.
