He is in possession of a lightblue five-seater Essex Sedan motor-car, Registered No. 83-535. Accused, who was employed by Joseph Nathan and Co., received from Gilbert John Neal the sum of £lO on terms requiring him to account for it to his employers, but fraudulently omitted to account for £6 16s. of that amount. He was under recognizance conditioned for his appearance at the Magistrate’s Court, Wellington, on the 26th ultimo, but failed to appear. Christchurch. On or about the 18th ultimo for forgery and uttering R. Evens (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-eight, height 6 ft. slight build, sallow complexion, dark hair brushed back, clean-shaved ; dressed in a light-grey suit (no hat), and was wearing Harold Lloyd glasses ; good appearance. On the 18th ultimo the above-described man purchased goods, value 3s. 4d., from Ottor August Danholt, 123 Ferry Road, and uttered in payment thereof a forged £1 note on the National Bank of New Zealand. Five similar notes were uttered to various storekeepers. The forged notes are colour photographic reproductions on “ Bond ” paper, which is inferior to that used in genuine notes, and the signature on each is “ C. A. Stevens,” inked over with mauve aniline ink. All the notes are dated Ist June, 1925,” and the numbers commence with “ C 546 ” which has been reproduced, the remaining figures being inserted in ink by the forger. No warrant.
