Sydney (Australia). —On the 7th ultimo the premises of THE BRITISH MEDICAL ASSOCIATION, 33 Elizabeth Street, were broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : Two silver chased goblets ; a round silver cake-basket, with three legs ; a jug-shape silver oil-receptacle on square base lined with blue glass ; and E.P. incense -burner with triple
chain suspender; a small Westclox clock; £lO os. Bd. in money ; a ladies’ light-brown gabardine costume, longembossed skirt ; a blue-and-black woollen voile dress, trimmed with black marocain ; a black satin evening-dress with blue collar ; a long black skunk stole ; a pair of ladies’ fawn silk gloves ; a pair of ladies’ fawn silk stockings ; a ladies fawn leather handbag ; one large and two small cut-glass vases ; a ladies’ blue-and-brown woollen coat; a Labat surgical outfit in nickel case containing a glass and metal syringe, a glass syringe, and 10 surgical needles ; a nickel case containing a glass and metal syringe, seven metal extension nozzles, and twelve surgical needles ; a Labat dental outfit in nickel case containing a glass and metal syringe, six extension nozzles, and seven surgical needles ; a Haemacytometer in nickel case ; two Labat syringes in nickel case ; eleven tins of lodeol capsules ; five boxes of Hemocyto serum; twenty -four tubes of Neocaine ; fifty boxes Cryogenic powder ; and two boxes of Acatipol catheters : total value, £lls. Adelaide (South Australia). —A warrant has been issued for the arrest of (John Charles Stewart, alias James Kelly, alias Roderick Aiister McLeod, for escaping from the Yatala Prison on the 20th ultimo while serving a life sentence for murder. Description: age twenty-three, height sft. 11 in., labourer, native of Scotland, muscular build, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, three scars on right temple, scar above right knee.
