Takapuna.—2nd January last, from the dwelling of BRIDGET ALICE SARSFIELD, Tennyson Avenue, a ladies’ gold wristlet watch, black English figures with red 12, black leather strap attached ; value, £6. Identifiable.

Devonport.-—On or about the 14th January last, the property of MARY ELLEN WINDERS, Willis Street, Wellington, two double white blankets; and a sleeping-doll about 3 ft. 6 in. in height, “Made in Germany ” on back total value, £23. Doll only identifiable. - 3 y W y > y

Auckland.—On the 30th or 31st ultimo, the office of the Public Works, Orakei, was broken into and the following stolen therefrom : The property of BARTLEY HENDL, £25 17s. 4d. in money; a cheque for £l, No. 116220, drawn on the Bank of New Zealand, Newmarket, by F. Bignell in favour of B. Hendl; an 1.0. U. for £5, signed R. Painter; and a gentlemen’s open-face silver Omega watch, H.R.P. and 7/611 engraved inside back case : total value, £4l 17s. 4d. Identifiable except money. Suspicion is attached to Harold Roy Painter, referred to in Police Gazette, 1926, page 595, who has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.

Auckland. —JAMES MCDONALD’S bicycle stolen: It has been ascertained that the number of the stolen bicycle is 4202. (See Police Gazette, 1927, page 150.)

Auckland.—7th December last, the property of THE MAPLE FURNISHING COMPANY, Karangahape Road, a rimu sideboard, four rimu chairs, a rimu table, a double rimu bedstead with mattresses and pillows, a rimu oval chest, and a moquette chesterfield suite ; total value, £53 13s. 2d. Not identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Olive Sarah Teresa Tobin, age about twenty-nine, height 5 ft. 7 in., domestic, native of New Zealand, slight build, dark complexion and hair, blue eyes. Suspect bought the furniture on the hire-purchase system and had paid £7 18s. off the purchase-price, but sold the furniture and disappeared.

Auckland. —25th or 26th ultimo, from the premises of BRADSTREET LIMITED, 102 Karangahape Road, a ladies’ pale-pink velvet costume piped with black and silver trimmings, long roll collar piped with black, coat double-breasted with four black buttons on front, plain skirt with pleats on each side ; value, £lO 10s. Identifiable.

Auckland. —On the Ist or 2nd instant the shop of JOHN BROCKIE KING, Emily Place, was broken into and the following stolen therefrom : A gentlemen’s open-face keyless gun-metal watch, an imitation nickel-plated revolver, Is. Id. in money, and stamps to the value of about 12s. ; total value, £1 18s. Id. Identifiable except money and stamps.

Auckland. —Between the 25th December last and the Ist January, the property of LLEWELLYN CARLAW MILLER, Elliott Street, a motor-rug, 4 ft. by 6 ft., fawn hoodite on one side, check woollen on the other side ; and a gentlemen’s greenish-brown gabardine Le Roy trench overcoat, dome fasteners, double lining of oiled silk : total value, £5 ss. Identifiable.

Auckland. —29th ultimo, from the shop of GEORGINA LILLY TAYLOR, 55 John Street, Ponsonby, a wooden shop-till with three compartments containing about £5 10s. in money, a T. & G. insurance book in name of George and Hubert Taylor, two Provident Insurance books in names of Phyllis and Boris Nealis, and stamps to the value of 125., &c. ; total value, £6 10s. Identifiable except money and stamps.

Onehunga.—l6th ultimo, from Lower Queen Street, the property of RALPH LUSH, a gentlemen’s free-wheel Monarch Special bicycle, upturned handles, right grip missing, Monarch Special on transfer, Dunlop tires ; value, £8 10s. Identifiable. 41/ ft-

Hamilton.—l3th ultimo, from the rear of the Strand Theatre, Victoria Street, the property of REGINALD SKLPWORTH, 61 Massey Street, Frankton Junction, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel Monarch bicycle, No. 135708, upturned handles, black rubber grips, Oceanic tires, Bosch lighting set attached ; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Taihape. —l7th ultimo, from the New Commercial Hotel, the property of ELIZABETH GRIFFITHS, Ngaruawahia, a crepe de Chine dress (recovered); a fibre cane suit-case, with cane bands and leather-bound corners ; a pale-green voile dress with white collar and embroidered bottom ; a blue knitted silk underskirt with white knitted jumper trimmed with blue ; a gentlemen’s black silk running-costume trimmed with green ; a gentlemen’s white canoe-shirt; two gentlemen’s white-and-blue-striped pyjama suits; three books, entitled “ Jimmy Dale’s Adventures,” “ The Girl in the Corner Elat,” and another; a gold medal, inscribed “Presented to A. H. Griffiths, 100 yards Championship, Ohutu Sports ” ; and several towels, socks, collars, &c. : total value, £2O 16s. Mostly identifiable.

Hastings. —On the 12th instant the window of the shop of STANLEY OWEN GARLAND, Heretaunga Street, was broken, a.nd the following stolen therefrom : Twelve watches (recovered) ; six open-face nickel Omega watches, numbers 6898213, 6858914, 6779190, 6992730, 6968126, and 700767; three Omega hunting-watches, plain cases, two numbered 6968165 and 6457075 ; three silver Waltham hunting-watches, engine-turned cases; and twelve cheap watches, mostly Tngersoll make, several may have “ S. O. Garland ” on dial: total value, about £6O. Mostly identifiable.

Marton. — 2nd instant, the property of RAYMOND BAKER, Franch Street, a gentlemen’s Hendie bicycle, blackenamelled with red facings, No. A. 2881 under crank case, racing outrigger handles, Hendie transfer on forks and saddle - bar ; value, £ls 15s. Identifiable.

Palmerston North. —10th, ultimo, from Main Street, the property of A. H. MUDGWAY, 208 Milson Suburb, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel Cooksley bicycle, No. 26/40215, upturned handles, black grips, red tires, Cooksley transfer ; value, £9. Identifiable.

Carterton. —9th instant, from a motor-car in the yard of the Marquis Hotel, the property of RICHARD THOMAS WILKINSON, Queen Street, Auckland, a brown leather suit-case with khaki cover, four motor-cyclist’s leather helmets, two leather muffs, a green canvas cycle-cover, a pair each of motor-cyclist’s seatless khaki and green trousers, a fugi-silk shirt, a Tobralco shirt, and a brown woollen motor-rug, &c.; total value, £ls 6s. lid. Identifiable.

Wellington.— l2th instant, from Hunter Street, the property of DAVID WILSON, 58 Rintoul Street, a 1925 model six-cylinder Essex touring motor-car, registration number 71-751, engine number 181013, chassis number 138519, painted red with monogram on sides, black hood, red wooden wheels, Goodyear balloon tires on back wheels, Goodrich tire on one front wheel, Kelly cord tires on other front wheel and on spare wheel; value, £250. Rangiora. —l7th or 18th February last, from a garage in Victoria Street, the property of JOHNSTON’S NORTH CANTERBURY MOTOR COMPANY, a Stewart Warner five-valve wireless set, brown embossed, metal front and sides, oak top, bottom, and back ; value, £2O. Not identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Bert Thomas (name probably fictitious), age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, slight build, fair complexion and hair, ginger moustache, scar on upper lip ; dressed in a grey tweed suit and light hat.

Christchurch. —22nd ultimo, from the dwelling of CAROLINE LAHOAR, 12 Cecil Street, Waltham, two plain gold wedding-rings ; a gentlemen’s rolled-gold keyless hunting Omega watch, engine-turned cases, “ R.S.” engraved on outside case ; and a double 9 ct. gold curb watch-chain ; total value, £ll 10s. Suspicion is attached to Humphrey Bishop, John Mantford, and Kingsley, members of the Humphrey Bishop Musical Comedy Company (at present touring New Zealand), who were in the shop with complainant and disappeared during his temporary absence.

Suspicion is attached to Clement Harold Mansfield, age about forty, height SR. 10 in., carpenter, native of Tasmania, slight build, pale complexion, brown hair, clean-shaved, sharp features, erect gait, two left fingers missing ; usually dressed in a blue suit, grey felt hat, and tan boots.
