Concealment of Birth.
Timaru. —About 9.30 a.m. on the 16th ultimo the body of a male child, born about twelve hours previously, was found among some broom at Waimate. Medical testimony showed that there was a large bruise in the region of the neck and upper portion of the chest, and that the child had breathed, but the cause of death could not be definitely stated. If any information regarding the parentage of the child is obtained a communication is to be sent to the Inspector of Police, Timaru.
Wellington. The above is a photograph of Satyendra Nath Chatterjee, alias Stanley William Roy-Chatterji, alias Swarrabje Roy, alias Dr. Sharman (son of the late Rai Bahadur Brojendra Nath Chatterjee, formerly a Superintendent of Police at Calcutta), who was sentenced on the 20th November last at Wellington to three months for theft, and who will be discharged from Wellington Prison on the 19th instant. Description : Age thirty-three, height 5 ft. 6 in., lawyer, native of India, strong build, dark complexion, black hair, brown eyes, scar under left eye and on left middle finger. Chatterjee, who is a plausible criminal, has been convicted in England, France, and Belgium, expelled from Italy, and lives mainly on the proceeds of his fraudulent operations.
