Auckland. 3rd ultimo, for theft of a gentlemen’s bicycle (recovered), value £lO, the property of George Robert Jones, upholsterer, 15 Surrey Street, Grey Lynn, Wilson (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-five, height about 5 ft. 9 in., slight build, fresh complexion, black hair; well dressed in a navy-blue suit and grey felt hat. Accused took the bicycle from Customs Street and left it for sale at the auction room of Richard Arthur and Company, Queen Street. Mo warrant.

Auckland. —29th November last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for seven days in default of paying £1 balance of fine and costs for assault, Thomas Halliday, age thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 5 in., labourer, native of Australia, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, dot on left wrist. Auckland. — Samuel Arthur Pudney, alias Ted Smith, alias Jones, escaping from prison, was seen on the 9th ultimo near Waiuku, where he endeavoured to secure employment at scrub -cutting. Auckland. 2Bth ultimo, for theft of a suit (recovered), value £7 75., the property of John Blumberg, labourer, Ongarue, Hugh Brown (name probably fictitious), age thirty, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue-grey eyes, thin face, hollow cheeks ; dressed in a blue suit and grey cap. The suit was stolen from a bedroom at 144 Hobson Street and sold to a second-hand dealer for 7s. 6d. by a man of the description given. No warrant.

Auckland. —23rd ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for three months in default of paying £lßl os. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife and child, Daniel Egan, age fifty-one, height 5 ft. 7Jin., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, grey hair going bald, brown eyes, scar over right eye, on right thumb and shin, on tip of right middle finger, and on left forearm ; dirty appearance ; fond of drink. Pembroke. —13th November last, that a summons for unlawfully placing an obstruction on the public road may be served upon him, Edwin Austin Irving, age thirty-two, height 5 ft. Ilf in., cook, native of New Zealand, strong build, sallow complexion, brown hair and eyes, two hearts and clasped hands on right forearm, anchor on left forearm ; dressed in a blue serge suit and light-felt hat; fond of drink ; stutters. Accused, who was dismissed by the manager of Wanaka Station, placed a post across the main road with the intention of injuring the manager, who was out in his motorcar. Roxburgh.—lsth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Dunedin Prison for one month in default of paying £6 17s. fine and costs for being drunk and disorderly, Alfred Matheson, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. in., labourer, native of New Zealand, good build, dark complexion, hair, and eyes ; usually dressed in a dark suit and cap. He left this Dominion for Melbourne (Australia), on the 22nd November last.
