Memorandum.] Police Offences Amendment Act, 1926, Section 4. In the conduct of Court proceedings by members of the Force in relation to charges under section 4 (1) of the Police Offences Amendment Act, 1926, it is desired that the provisions of subsection (3) of the section should not be pressed in cases where there is not good reason to believe that the accused came into possession of the money produced in defence of the charge against him by actual dishonestyi.e. by theft, false pretences, or fraud. Memorandum.] Police Offences Amendment Act, 1926, Section 2. Particular care is to be exercised by members of the Force in relation to taking proceedings against young persons, particularly under the age of sixteen years, for offences under section 2 of the Police Offences Amendment Act, 1926. It is desired that the provisions of the section shall be administered with the greatest possible consideration for children and with due regard for the indiscretions of youth ; therefore, prosecutions should be mainly confined to adults.
