Whangarei. —Between the Ist and 12th May last, on warrant for obtaining credit by fraud, F. Young, age about twenty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., piano-tuner, thin build, pale complexion, fair hair, blue eyes ; dressed in a light-tweed suit, light-felt hat, fawn overcoat, and brown shoes ; impediment in speech; slightly stooped; delicate. Accused obtained £l7 10s. from Ethel May Walker, boardinghousekeeper, by fraud. He has a bag with “ Mitchell/” on it, and he may assume the name Lees. *7 /ay Y,

Auckland. —29th ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of an order for expenses incidental to the birth and death of his illegitimate child, Thomas Robinson, age about twenty height about 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, medium build, copper complexion, black long hair; usually dressed in a navy-blue suit; a half-caste Maori. Auckland. 9th instant, on warrant to show cause why an affiliation order should not be made against him, Louis Valentine Williams, age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, strong build, fresh complexion, brown hair, large red nose, scar under right eye, piece of shrapnel in one big toe ; well dressed. Complainant, Gladys Southgate.

Auckland. —17th instant, for breaking and entering the shop of William McKinney, chemist, New North Road, Mount Albert, with intent to commit a crime, Two Men (names unknown) 7 in. ; wearing light-grey close-fitting overcoat with belt and a felt hat: and (2) age about twenty-three, height about 5 ft. 5 in. ; dressed in a brown suit. They were seen in the shop, and left in a grey Ford motor-car. No warrant.

Mount Eden South. — 11th May last, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of her daughter in Auckland Receiving Home, Muriel Schutt, age twenty-four, height 5 ft. 4 in., domestic, native of New Zealand, thin build, dark complexion, hair, and eyes, prominent teeth ; usually wears a dark dress and overcoat; a quarter-caste Maori. Hamilton. llth February last, on warrant for false pretences, Francis Williams, alias Fred Williams, age twentyeight, height 5 ft. 4^ in., contractor, native of New Zealand, slight build, fresh complexion, fair hair, grey eyes. Accused obtained £2 13s. from Eric Innes-Jones, service-car proprietor, Bettina Road, Claudelands, by falsely representing that he had entered into a contract to asphalt paths at Hamilton East, and that he wanted to go to Auckland to get his tools from the Official Assignee. Arrears to 19th December last, £278.

Wanganui. —l2th instant, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Mona May Somers, 113 Bell Street, and two children, Walter Somers, age twenty-six, height about 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, good build, sallow complexion, black hair turning grey, grey eyes ; dressed in a navy-blue suit and light-felt hat; frequents billiard-saloons ; fond of drink^idJuK y^,^ '

Wanganui. —llth ultimo, that he may be interviewed regarding his obtaining money from Mary Kate Stuthridge, 37 Hatrick Street, and others by representing that he was travelling for a Nelson fruit firm, which he stated delivered apples at 7s. 6d. per case, William Moy or Moir, age forty, height about 5 ft. 5 in., stout build, florid complexion, dark hair with white patch at back of head, flat large red nose, full face ; dressed in a navy-blue suit and tan boots. No apples have been delivered, and he may be obtaining money by false pretences. No warrant.

Palmerston North. — l7th instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his two children in a receiving home, Ernest William Baker, alias Len Hamilton, age thirty-eight, height 6 ft. 1 in., labourer and slaughterman, native of New. Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, black hair, brown eyes, dark moustache. Arrears to 13th instant, £26 4s. 3d. (See Police Gazette, 1926, page 52. l%jl/3'J

Wellington. —l6th instant, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probationary license, William James Moore, alias William John Frederick Moore, age forty, height 5 ft. 6-| in., butcher, native of New Zealand, dark complexion, black hair, dark-grey eyes, scar on right elbow, three dots on left forearm, ring on left ring-finger. His license has been cancelled, and his return to the nearest prison is desired. His period of probation expires on the 24th November, 1926, after which no action is to be taken. Wellington. — December, 1925, for theft of a £5 note, the property of Francis James Knox, linotype operator, 130 Abel Smith Street, Percy Alexander Bellve, age twentysix, height 5 ft. 11 in., painter and labourer, native of New Zealand, thin build, sallow complexion, dark hair, prominent nose ; dressed in grey woollen trousers, black coat, and fawn cap (no vest); slightly round-shouldered; a quarter-caste Maori. Accused, who boarded at the above address, is suspected of having stolen the money from a wallet in complainant’s portmanteau. No warrant.

Wellington. —sth instant, for escaping from Porirua Mental Hospital, Alexander Anderson, age fifty-five (looks younger), height 5 ft. 5 in., fresh complexion, light-grey hair ; dressed in a dark-mole suit, red handkerchief round neck, tweed hat, and blucher boots. Wellington. —23rd instant, for escaping from the Terrace Prison, Wellington, Jimmy Woereta, alias Wereta, alias John Joseph Hansen, age twenty-four, hright 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, Maori, strong build, copper complexion, black hair, brown eyes ; dressed in brown-moleskin trousers and heavy black boots. Invercargill. —l9th instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Isabel Patricia Perrow, and child, 7 William Street, Alfred William Perrow, age twenty-nine, height 5 ft. 8 in., traveller, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion and hair, blue eyes, broken nose, clean-shaved ; usually dressed in a blue suit, light-felt hat, and brown shoes.
