PROPERTY STOLEN.

Newton. — On the 13th or 14th ultimo the shop of ALFRED BRYAN, 33 Dryden Street, was broken into and a quantity of tobacco, cigarettes, chocolates, &c., value £5 9s. Bd., stolen therefrom. Not identifiable.

Newton. Between the 14th January last and the 14th February, from the yard at 59 Karangahape Road, the property of CECIL NORMAN MARDON, six dozen tea-cups, three dozen breakfast-cups, six dozen egg-cups, six small sugar-basins, and six soup or vegetable dishes, all branded “ Allerton, made in England,” on bottoms; total value, £l3 4s. lOd. Identifiable.

Between the 22nd and 24th ultimo the shop of FREDERICK WILLIAM GAZE, 2 Karangahape Road, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : Eleven ladies’ Canterbury vests ; twenty-three gentlemen’s woollen vests ; twenty-one pairs of gentlemen’s woollen underpants ; three pairs of gentlemen’s cotton underpants; five boys’ woollen .vests ; four pairs of ladies’ black-silk stockings; seven pairs of ladies’ “ Blue bird,” “ Plato,” and “ Bonds ” silk stockings, mushroom, putty, champagne, and brown colours ; thirty pairs of ladies’ “ Sylk-arto ” stockings, assorted colours twelve pairs of ladies’ “Bonds Triple Wear” silk stockings; six pairs of ladies’ woollen Roslyn stockings ; forty-two pairs of children’s cashmere three-quarter stockings, sizes 7to 12; forty-three pairs of boys’ “ Gazes Knit ” stockings, sizes 8£ to 11 ; 118 pairs gentlemen’s grey, heathermixture, grey-fawn, and putty-coloured socks ; and twentyseven ladies’ white linen handkerchiefs, &c. : total value, £96 6s. 7d. , Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). — On or about the 24th April last, from the s.s. ‘ ‘Hororata,” the property of BERTHA WILKINSON, 16 Malvern Road, Devon port, a £SO and a £2O Bank of England Treasury notes, Nos. 34 over X. 46416 and 30 over M. 71280. Identifiable.

Auckland. — On or about the sth April last the dwelling of JAMES SAMUEL DICKSON, Penrose, was broken into and three bottles of whisky stolen therefrom ; value, £1 13s. Not identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Clyde Thomas, age about nineteen, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, native of New Zealand slight build* shabby, appearance. / 7 r -7'"P6, Auckland. —On the 2nd ultimo the dwelling of LUCY CASTLE, 20 Parnell Road, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : An old-fashioned silver watch-chain, and a pair of gold earrings with stones similar to aquamarines attached ; total value, £2 10s. Katikati. —On the 7th ultimo the hut of THOMAS THOMSON, Omakaroa, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : A brown-leather portmanteau, two suits of woollen underclothing, a small Kodak camera, and a Postoffice savings-bank book, No. 82449, issued at Tauranga in name of Thomas Thomson ; total value, £4 10s. Identifiable.

: MatamaTA. — On the 27th or 28th ultimo the premises of J. E. CUMMINGS, draper, were broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : A gentlemen’s blue Lynx suit, two pairs of coloured pyjamas, two pull-over woollen cardigans, a pair of leather gauntlet gloves, two pairs of woollen gloves with leather palms, a gentlemen’s toilet-set in morocco case, a

leather wallet, two fawn Stetson hats, with “ J. E. Cummings ” on leather band inside ; six neglige-shirts, size 4 ; a pair of gentlemen’s tan Marlow shoes, size 8 ; a leather suit-case, nickel-plated at corners ; a small leather attache-case ; and a quantity of silk handkerchiefs, socks, &c. : total value, £54. Mostly identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), height about 5 ft. 8 in., hawker, supposed native of France, strong build ; wearing a double-breasted coat and patent-leather peaked cap; speaks with foreign accent.

Te Puke. —Between the Bth and 12th April last, from the Papamoa Railway-station, the property of EDMUND L. BROAD, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled Whirlwind bicycle, 28 in. frame ; value, £9. Identifiable.

Ongarue. On or about the 26th April last, the property of HERBERT STUBBINGTON, a light-bay draught mare, about ten years old, 16 hands, small blaze on face, three soremarks on left shoulder ; value, £45. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Frederick Young, alias Alfred George Young, age twenty-seven, height 5 ft. 8| in., bushman, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, scar on right side of chest. Carterton. l4th April last, from a motor-car outside the Club Hotel, the property of CHARLES FREDERICK MEACHAM, Wellington, a brown-leather suit-case, with “ Laery and Co.” stamped on outside ; and a Roslyn travel-ling-rug, fawn on one side and square check on the other, “ Roslyn ” and “C. F. Meacham ” on tab : total value, £7. Identifiable.

Wellington. — the 13th and 24th February last, from 154 Willis Street, the property of RHODA MUNRO, a leather brief - bag; a ladies’ 18 ct. gold dress-ring, set with about four small pearls, one broken, “ Stewart Dawson ” inside case ; a ladies’ gold dress-ring, set with a row of pink stones and diamond chips ; a ladies’ gold dress-ring, set with small greenstone tiki; a ladies’ gold cameo ring; an expanding gold bracelet, set with a cameo ; a gold engagement ring, set with three diamonds and three rubies in claw setting ; a round gold pendant, set with large rubies, with drop set with three rubies attached ; a greenstone heart; a gold leafshaped brooch ; and £3 19s. in money, &c. : total value, £3O. Wellington. —3oth April last, from the Albemarle Hotel, the property of THOMAS RYDAL GREAVES, a gentlemen’s dark-brown single-breasted tweed overcoat, herringbone pattern, “ Barrydock ”on tag ; value, £6. Identifiable.

Wellington. — lst April last, from the s.s. “ Wahine ” at the Wellington Wharf, the property of NOEL EVERARD SOUPER, a brown-leather attache-case, with “N.E.S.” in gold letters on one side ; a suit of pyjamas ; a Valet safety razor; a razor-strop ; a three-cell Niagara electric torch ; a fawn Stetson hat, size 7 ; and a tin of fifty cigarettes, &c. : total value, £7 12s. fid. Wellington. — l6th ultimo, from the Provincial Hotel, Upper Hutt, the property of GEORGE WILSON FOTHERGILL, an open-face keyless metal watch ; a curb metal watchchain ; a metal pocket-compass, with “ G.W.F.” scratched on outside ; and an aneroid barometer in brown-morocco case : total value, £9 17s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), height about 5 ft. 8 in., medium build ; dressed in a dark suit.

Wellington. —3rd April last, from the Carlton Hotel, the property of THOMAS ROBINSON, Raetihi, a black-leather suit-case, with “ T.R.” on front, two nickel locks; three white shirts, size 4, one with “R. Forrest on neckband; a gentlemen’s black coat and vest, “ W. H. Marriott, Havelock,” on tag ; a black-leather satchel conaining a locomotiveand traction-engine driver’s certificate, a military discharge, Masonic regalia, &c. : total value, £2O. Identifiable.

Christchurch. —27th February last, from Lichfield Street, the property of FERME LLOYD HERRIOTT, 120 Bletsoe Avenue, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel Rover bicycle, No. Z. 14740, 22 in. frame, Bates Britannia tires; value, £l4 10s. Identifiable.

Christchurch. 2lst February last, from Cambridge Terrace, the property of ARTHUR STANLEY FULLER, 257 Cashel Street, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled fixed-wheel Dumergue bicycle. No. 1080, 24 in. frame, Diamond outrigger handles, John Bull tire on back wheel; value, £5. Identifiable.

On the 12th or 13th March last, from a garage at 129 Caledonian Road, the property of FREDERICK WILLIAM PAGE, a medical battery, 9 in. square an airgun ; a pair of fur-lined kangaroo-skin motor-gloves ; four hand-saws, branded “F.P.”; nine planes; a glass-cutter; and a set of carving-tools, &c. : total value, £ll 6s. Dunedin. —The premises of DREAVERS LIMITED broken into : The following property was also stolen : About six dozen ladies’ crepe de Chine and silk handkerchiefs, assorted jazz colours ; and a ladies’ full-length marmot-fur co&U diagonal strips of fur meeting at centre of back, satin lining : total value, about £67 15s.
