Accused, who was employed by the above firm as salesman for the Chrysler motor-car, received a deposit of £lO on a car from Arthur Golden, licensee, Pahi Hotel, and failed to pay the same to his,employers,

Onehunga. —llth ultimo, for assault and indecent exposure, Man (name unknown), age about -three, height 5 ft. 10 in., medium build, pale complexion, prominent ears ; dressed in a dark-grey suit, light-grey-felt hat, and lightfawn overcoat; slightly stooped. At 10.15 p.m., in Trafalgar Street, accused came up behind Pauline llushbrook, seized her and indecently exposed himself to her. No warrant.

Hastings. —24th ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, of whom Ira Thompson is the mother, Maurice Herbert Medley, age twenty, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion and hair, clean-shaved. Wellington. —lst February last, on warrant for forgery, Frank Howie, alias Frank Henry Guhl, age twenty-nine, height 5 ft. 10 in., motor mechanic and canvasser, native of Australia, slight build, sallow complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes, thin features ; dressed in a navy-blue suit, grey soft-felt hat, bow tie, and fancy socks ; smart appearance. Accused is charged that on the Ist February, 1926, at Wellington, he did make a false document—namely, a contract for the insertion of an advertisement in the “ New Zealand Worker” newspaper, purporting to be signed by Harry Baker, with the intention that it should be acted upon as genuine. Wellington. —llth ultimo, for theft of a gentleman’s suit, a blanket, two shirts, and a singlet (recovered), value £ll 18s., the property of Rachael Ryan and others, 43 Thorndon Quay, Joe or George Murray (names probably fictitious), age thirty, height 5 ft. 10 in., native of Ireland, slight build, fair complexion, auburn hair, one eye artificial; dressed in a brown suit and fawn-felt hat. Accused booked a room at Mrs. Ryan’s boardinghouse and after a few hours disappeared. The articles were recovered at second-hand shops. No warrant.

Wellington. — ultimo, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probationary license, John Leslie Young, age twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 4 in., stonepolisher, native of New Zealand, fresh complexion, brown hair turning grey, blue eyes, scar on left ring-finger, thumb, and forefinger, on right ring-finger and forefinger, and on forehead. Taranaki Street (Wellington). — February last, on warrant for assault on Hilary James Harrington, police constable, Man (name unknown), age about twenty, height 5 ft. 9 in., strong build, ruddy complexion, round features ; dressed in dark-grey coat and trousers. The constable, who was off duty, accidentally collided on the footpath with accused, who then struck complainant and ran away.

Christchurch. —llth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Paparua Prison for forty-eight hours in default of paying £1 3s. fine and costs for drunkenness, Hugh Pritchard, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 9 in., machinist, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, light-brown hair, grey eyes, scar on light wrist.
