Crawford (name probably fictitious), age about thirty-five, height about 5 ft. 9 in., labourer and fencer, medium build, dark complexion, fair hair, blue eyes, small auburn moustache, full face ; dressed in a dark suit and gabardine overcoat; stooped ; dirty appearance ; fond of drink. Accused stole the boots from the shop-door and sold them to a second-hand dealer for 7s. fid.

Carterton. 9th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for three months in default of paying £lB arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Ethel May Forgeson, George Brock Aaron Forgeson, age forty-one, height 5 ft. 4J in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion and hair, grey eyes, “ G ” on right forearm ; dressed in a dark-brown suit, dark-grey-felt hat, and tan boots which have been blackened ; a good billiard-player and frequents billiard-saloons. Wellington. —On or about the 12th August last, that he may be located and the Inspector of Police notified of his whereabouts, Linley Willis Mills, age twenty-five, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, good build, fresh complexion, ginger hair; usually dressed in a navyblue or grey suit and soft-felt hat. He is suspected of having stolen at River Camp, Mangahao, Shannon, a letter containing two postal notes for 3s. each and two postal notes for 2s. fid. each (recovered), the latter two having been forwarded to Mr. McDonald, Wanganui, in payment for Monster Sports Art-union tickets. If located, the Inspector of Police, Wellington, is to be notified, who will forward the file. 'J

Murchison. —31st October last, that he may be notified that the Murchison police have in their possession £3 3s. balance of his bail-money, James Joseph O’Connor, alias Collins, age thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of Ireland, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, broken nose, clean-shaved ; usually dressed in a browntweed suit, grey cap, and brown lace-up boots. He was arrested on the 29th September last on charges of drunkenness and refusing to quit licensed premises.
