PERSONS WANTED.

Auckland. —29th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for three days in default of paying £1 fine and costs for unlawfully driving a motor-car without lights, George Steeves, age twenty-five, height about 6 ft. 6 in., mechanic and seaman, native of Canada, medium build, fresh complexion, fair hair, hazel eyes, small ears ; dressed in a blue suit with fine light stripes. He left this Dominion on the 20th ultimo as a greaser on the s.s. “ Waimana.”

Auckland. — l3th instant, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Mona Catherine Mead, Panmure Road, James Mead, age fifty-two, height about 5 ft. 10 in., carpenter, native of England, strong build, sallow complexion, brown \ hair, dark eyes, thick lips. He may assume the name Bevis. 'Y/'yfO'b.

Taubanga. —23rd ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Rotorua Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £2 10s. fine and costs for fighting, Edward McKinnon, age twentyfive, height 6 ft. 2 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, dark ruddy complexion, dark hair, brown eyes, dressed in a grey or dark suit. Napier. —l2th instant, on warrant of commitment to Napier Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £3 balance of fine and costs for negligently driving a motorlorry, James Anderson, age fifty-two, height 5 ft. 8 in., fisherman, native of Scotland, stout build, ruddy complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, heavy drooping moustache; frostbitten feet.

Hawera.— On or about the Ist August last, on warrant for theft of hoodit6, value £5, ‘the’ property 1 of "Curtis' and Spragg, coachbuilders, Edward Mahoney, age twenty -five, height 5 ft. 10 in., coach-trimmer, nfati've of New Zealand; slight build, dark complexion and hair; fond of drink. Masterton. l4th instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Kate Howard, Bannister Street, and six children, Herbert William Howard, alias Whyatt, age forty-two, height sft. 10 in., labourer and carter, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, brown hair and eyes ; dressed in a tweed suit and light- hat; quiet manner ;'"erect gait. Thomas Goodwin, default of "fine and costs : His correct name is Thomas Goodman, and his description is as follows : Age forty-three, height 5 ft. 3 in., slight build, fair complexion, clean-shaved; tidy appearance ; fond of drink ; usually follows the occupation .of a gardener. His wife resides at 25 Falkland Street, Wanganui, and she received from him, on 24th ultimo, a telegram which was sent from Christchurch.

Wellington.- instant, on warrant of commitment to Paparua Prison for one month in default of paying £l3 16s. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, Charles Henry Leigh Walters, age forty-nine, height 5 ft. 11 in., land agent and labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, ruddy complexion, brown hair, grey eyes; fond of gambling. Timaru. —13th instant, for theft of a suit of clothes, value £8 10s. (recovered), the property of John Leach, H. McLean, age about twenty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., medium build, prominent nose, dressed in a blue suit and grey cap; and J. Johnston, age about thirty-two, height 6 ft., medium build, pock-marked face, dressed in a blue-serge overcoat and lightfelt hat. The suit was stolen from the Railway Private Hotel and sold to a second-hand dealer for 10s. No warrant.
