(if in., waiter and photographer, native of England, medium build, sallow complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes, scar on left ring-finger. Arrears to 27th March last, £22 15s. Auckland. —26th ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Frederick Croft, alias Frederick William Bowden, alias Frederick Craft, age about forty, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer and fireman, native of England, strong build, fresh complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes, wrinkled face, clasped hands and heart on left forearm ; “ Kate,” clasped hands, “ True Love,” “Fred,” and horse on right forearm. Hamilton. — ultimo, on warrant for theft of four pigs (recovered), value £ll, the property of Bruce Clarence John Boote, farmer, Whatawhata, John Barry (name probably fictitious), age about thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer and traveller, slight build, fair complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, scar below right knee ; dressed in a grey shabby suit, tan boots, and light-felt hat ; walks with a limp; plausible. Accused, who was staying with complainant, sold four of his (complainant’s) sows for £ll, falsely representing them to be his/own /rope rty.

Between the 3rd November and the 19th December last, for theft of a gentlemen’s overcoat, three shirts, two pairs of socks, a clothes-brush, a comb, a pair of scissors, a towel, and a pair of hamper-straps, total value, £lO, identifiable, the property of Douglas J. Coleman, labourer, Hunterville, Arnold James Amundsen, age twentyseven, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes ; cross, two anchors, and “ Ralph ” on left forearm ; ring on left ring-finger; arrow on right forearm. Putaruru. — Thomas T. Reynolds, assault : It has been ascertained by the Auckland police that he is now at Seattle, United States of America. (See Police Gazette, 1924, page 478.) 9

Rotorua. —24th ultimo, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), John Munro, age twenty-one, height 5 ft. 3 in., porter, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion and hair, blue eyes ; dressed in grey trousers, blazer coat, and white tennis-shoes (no hat). His arrest is desired. There are also two summonses for breaches of the Defence Act at Rotorua, and a notice of fine and costs (75.) at Morrinsville for service upon hum .

Gisborne.—27th March last/ on warrant of commitment to Gisborne Prison for one month in default of paying £9 13s. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, of whom Irene Maud Pitcher is the mother, John Fitzmaurice, age twenty-three, height ft. 10 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, fair complexion and hair, blue eyes, clean-shaved. Arrears computed to 23rd February last. P

New Plymouth. 23rd ultimo, on warrant of commitment to New Plymouth Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £lB 11s. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Annie Elizabeth Dean, Moturoa, Francis Edwin Dean, age forty height 5 ft. 8 j in., labourer, native of England, medium build, fair complexion, lightbrown hair turning grey, hazel eyes, scar on left little finger. New Plymouth. —Percy Lewis Ward, alias Jones, unlawfully using a motor-bicycle. The motor-bicycle has been recovered by the Oimondville police at Norsewood, where it had been left by accused. / (See Police Gazette, 1925,

Hawera.— William Mcßride, alias William Patrick Brophy, alias Loftus, forgery and uttering, was discharged from the Auckland Mental Hospital on the 17th instant. His arrest on the charge of forgery and uttering is still desired. (See Police Gazette, 1923, pages 284 and 509.) ✓

Arrears to the 21st ultimo, £193 10s.

Carterton. —22nd ultimo, on warrant for false pretences, W. Munro (name probably fictitious), age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 4 in., medium build, fair complexion and hair, blue eyes, gold-filled upper front tooth ; dressed in greenish riding-breeches, tan leggings and boots, grey coat and vest, grey-felt hat, and bluish overcoat ; plausible manner. Accused obtained £5 13s. 6d. from Howard Harold Armstrong, saddler, High Street, by means of a valueless cheque for £9 11s., which he tendered in payment for a saddle. He is in possession of thirty cheque forms on the Bank of New South Wales, Carterton, Nos. 361681-361710. There are other charges pending at Masterton. The photograph of Richard Edward Ellis, alias Victor William Edward Ellis, has been identified as that of accused.
