PROPERTY STOLEN.

Auckland. WILLIAM EDWARD FITZGERALD’S dwelling broken into : The suspect, John James Ross, has been arrested by the Cambridge police on another charge. The property has not been recovered. He is identical with John James Ross, alias Daniel Barrett, alias James Palm, referred to in Police Gazette, 1917, page 471. (See Police Gazette, 1924, pages 549 and 565, and following paragraph.)

Auckland. — GEORGE RICHARD’S clothing stolen : The suspect, J. Stewart, has been arrested by the Cambridge police on another charge. The clothing has not been recovered. He is identical with John .James Ross, alias Daniel Barrett, alias James Palm, referred to in Police Gazette, 1917, page 471. (See Police Gazette, 1924, page 578, and preceding paragraph.)

Auckland.—Between the 19th November and the 19th January last, from oil-stores in Jellicoo Street, the property of TEXACO OIL COMPANY, six cases of motor-oil, all branded “ Texaco ” ; total value, £l6 16s. Not identifiable.

Auckland. 2oth ultimo, from a cabin on the s.s. “Hororata,” the property of EGERTON T. WEBSTER, master mariner, 58 Nelson Crescent, Napier, a gentlemen’s 18 ct. gold hunting keyless engine-turned watch, similar to illustration No. 2 in Police Gazette, 1911, page 1 ; and a 9 ct. gold curb watch-chain : total value, about £6. Auckland. Between the Ist and 4th instant, from St.' Albans Church, the property of HENRY BARNARD WINGFIELD, vicar, 37 Brixton Road, a -coloured rug, with blue border, size 8 ft. by 5 ft., tassels at ends ; value, £6 12s. 6d. Identifiable.

Rotorua. —21st ultimo, from a railway-carriage, the property of CHARLES WILCOX BEAR, care of Salvation Army, Auckland, a black-ebony English baritone concertina, silver keys, maker Wheatstone, London, in a black-leather case ; value, £3O. Identifiable.

Taumarunui. GEOßGE STEADMAN’S dwelling broken into : It has now been ascertained that the stolen watch was gold-filled: Hunting Elgin watch, No. 11980724. (See Police Gazette, 1925, pages 22 and 70.) /

Wellington. Between the 18th and 23rd January last, from a bedroom at the Trocadero Hotel, the property of MONTY HAMILTON, waitress, a gold bamboo bangle with “ J.S.C.H.” on it, safety-chain attached ; value, £8 15s. Identifiable.

Wellington.— On the 7th ultimo the dwelling of AIMEE SCOTT, 2 Hall Avenue, Newtown, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : A 15 ct. gold heavy weddingring ; a ladies’ silver chased hunting-watch with blue-and-gold dial, roman numerals ; a 9 ct. gold bangle, set with five diamonds and rubies ; a ribbon watch-guard with gold shield in centre : total value, £l2 15s. Identifiable except ring.

Christchurch. — On the 27th ultimo the dwelling of WILLIAM ALEXANDER GAFFNEY, 262 Armagh Street, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : A gentlemen’s silver hunting Rotherhams watch, with “ W. A. Gaffney on inside of back case a ladies’ silver chased watch, with “ M. M. Gaffney ” on inside of back case ; a gentlemen’s open-face Storma watch, dial chipped ; a gold brooch, set with a cat’s-eye stone ; a gold brooch, with “ Gwen ” on it; two gold muff-chains, one with a gold V-shapcd pendant set with a white stone ; a greenstone brooch with N.Z. in gold on it; three silver curb chains ; a silver brooch, set with a blue stone ; and a silver beaded necklace : total value, £53 7s. 6d. Identifiable.

Christchurch. —23rd January last, from the People’s Palace, the property of DAVID GLEN, Lower Hutt, Wellington, a pair of brown field-glasses, arrow on one barrel, plating on one barrel worn ; value, £5. Identifiable.

Alexandra. 23rd ultimo, from a stable at the Criterion Club Hotel, the property of WILLIAM! FAITHFULL, Galloway, a two-wheeled sulky, dark-green body, red wheels, iron tires, long shafts ; a set of black light gig-harness, whitemetal buckles, yellow padding on saddle ; and a white-canvas horse-cover: total value, £2l. Identifiable.

Dunedin. the 23rd ultimo the dwelling of ALICE MAY MARTIN, 346 High Street, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom: A string of blue and white crystal beads (large blue bead in centre); a brush and comb in a black-leather case ; a blue, brown, and black handkerchief ; a set of gold oval sleeve-links, with “ E. J.S.” on them ; a small blue purse, containing two sovereigns ; a gold oval locket with “ AM.” or “ A.M.M.” on it; a fountain pen with wire clips ; a white zylonite manicure in a grey-suede-leather cover with brown-velvet lining ; a ladies’ silver

Suspicion is attached to Mary Bridget Barry, alias Patileen Barry, age eighteen, height 5 ft. 3 in., domestic, native of New Zealand, stout build, fresh complexion, dark hair, blue eyes, small gold filling in upper front teeth.
