Manaia.— 24th ultimo, on warrant for forgery and uttering, Frederick Hunt Hardgreaves, alias Frederick Nicholls, age twenty-five, height 5 ft. 2\ in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes, scar on each knee ; dressed in a navy-blue suit and black hat. Accused forged the signature of William Thomas Wells to a cheque for £7 10s. and uttered it to Thomas Whitehead Armitage, draper, in payment for a suit of clothes, receiving £2 ss. change. He is suspected of having stolen the cheque from Jeromson’s cycle-shop on the 22nd October last. There are other charges pending. King, age about thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 4 in., rabbiter, native of New Zealand, thin build, dark complexion and hair, hooked nose, two prominent upper teeth ; usually dressed in a browntweed suit and cap; talkative; fond of drink. Accused, who was employed as a rabbiter by complainant, sold a quantity of rabbit-skins, failed to give tho proceeds (£l9 135.) to complainant, and disappeared.

Nelson. —28th November last, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Clarice Ellen Wilson, Nilo Street, and children, Francis Hamilton Wilson, age twenty-four, height about 5 ft. 7 in., canvasser and motor-driver, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, wavy fair hair, blue eyes, good teeth, one gold upper tooth ; well dressed in a brown suit and shoes, and dark soft-felt hat. He was, and may still be, employed as canvasser for a Christchurch portrait-enlargment firm, and was lart heard of at Outram on the 18th ultimo. 3 '
