Rotorua. —10th instant, that he may be compelled to pay £75 arrears due for the maintenance of his children, Alexander Peter Denis Graydon, age fifty, height 5 ft. 7 in., miner, native of Now Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, small fair moustache ; usually dressed in grey trousers, brown-tweed coat and vest, tan boots, and soft-felt hat; fond of drink. Bth September last, on warrant for theft of a ladies’ gold wristlet watch (recovered), value ..£7, the property of Florence Waters, domestic, Castle Street, Ethel Gilbert, age about twenty-two, height 5 ft. 4 in., hotel employee, native of New Zealand, slight build, fair complexion and hair; usually well dressed ; good appearance ; fond of dancing. Accused, during the progress of a dance at the Town Hall, stole the watch from complainant’s coat, but on being interviewed by the Stratford police delivered it over to them, and subsequently disappeared. She may assume the name Smith.

Wanganui. —4th September last, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Erica Cundy, Charles Robert Cundy, age forty-six, height about 5 ft. 7 in., farmer and bushman, medium build, ruddy complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, full face, one upper front tooth missing ; slouching gait. Accused, who was arrested for deserting from the s.s. “ Maindy Manor,” was ordered to be deported. The pistol was found at Cheviot hidden on James Burns’s threshing-mill, where Cooper had been employed. The license, No. 3218, dated 14th July, 1922, and the certificate No. 189598, have not been recovered.
