Auckland. —2Bth ultimo, from a lane off Queen Street, Onehunga, the property of LEO CLAYDON, Princes Street East, Onehunga, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled bicycle, outrigger handles, Dunlop Railroad tires ; value, £5. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Allan Edward Barron, age twenty-four, height about 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, fresh complexion, brown hair and eyes. He offered a bicycle resembling complainant’s for sale to Henry Clarkson, second-hand dealer, on the 29th ultimo. (See Police Gazette, 192 page 136, and Photographs, page 37J

Identifiable except money.

AuckIand.— FREDERICK PEEL’S and FREDERICK BATES’S money stolen : Charles Clyde Bennett, alias Biddy Bennett, has been interviewed by the Te Aroha police, but no evidence resulted. (See Police Gazette, 1924, page 625.)

Raiiotu. — Between the 11th and 13th ultimo the premises of GREENWAY BROS., storekeepers, at Okato, were broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : 29 yards of cream floral crepe ; 29 yards of red floral crepe ; 11 yards of black-and-white madrass curtain with yellow floral border; a pair of gentlemen’s box-calf lace-up boots, Durox soles, size 7 ; a pair of ladies’ bronze-nigger evening court-shoes ; a pair of ladies’ black-glace-kid evening court-shoes noth buckles ; an E.P. jewel-case with blue-satin lining ; a white-bristle hairbrush ; and a quantity of dolls, soap, and children’s slippers and hats : total value, £l3 (ss. Id. Not identifiable.

Havelock North. l4th September last, the property of DOROTHY ALICE FIELD, Waimarama, a pink dressingjacket, faced with blue ; a white-silk Princess underskirt, embroidered in front a white-cotton Princess underskirt, embroidered in front; a white-voile jumper ; a pair of crepe knickers ; a white-silk chemise ; a quantity of cerise ribbon ; and a fawn-suede purse, containing £1 7s. fid. : total value, £7. Identifiable except money. Suspicion is attached to Mary Te Himi, age fourteen, height 5 ft. 2 in., schoolgirl, Maori, medium build, copper complexion, black hair, brown eyes. She has been interviewed by the Dannevirke police, but no evidence resulted.

Suspicion is attached to Mervyn John Cudby, alias John Smith, referred to in Police Gazette, 1924, page 500, and Photographs, 1922, page 65, who left this Dominion for Sydney by the s.s. “ Manuka ” on the 30th ultimo. An attempt was also made to open the safe with explosives. Suspicion is attached to Mervyn John Cudby, alias John Smith, referred to in preceding and following paragraphs.

Wellington. Between the 29th and 30th ultimo the premises of C. AND A. ODLIN (LIMITED), timber-mer-chants, Taranaki Street, were broken into and an attempt made to open the safe with explosives. Suspicion is attached to Mervyn John Cudby*, alias John Smith, referred to in preceding paragraphs.

Taranaki Street.— Between the 21st and 22nd ultimo, from JOHN WILKINSON’S farm at Happy Valley, five white Yorkshire sucking-pigs, four one week old and the other three weeks old ; total value, £3. Not identifiable.

Christchurch. THOMAS FRANCIS SLATTERY’S hut broken into : It has now been ascertained that the correct number of the rifle is 519393, not “ 519392.” (See Police Gazette, 1924, page 550.)
