Complainant gave premature birth to a child on the 16th ultimo..

Whangarei. 29th July last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for three months in default of paying £56 11s. 6d. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Annie Cookson, and two children, Robert Cookson, alias West, age forty, height 5 ft. in., motor engineer, native of England, medium build, sallow complexion, dark hair going bald, blue eyes, one lower front tooth missing ; usually dressed in a blue-serge suit and black-felt hat; fond of drink, and talkative. She was before the Court on the above charge, and was remanded for a week to a Home at Ponsonby, from where she absconded on the sth ultimo. She may be accompanied by her mother, Lillian Tolley, age twenty-nine, height 5 ft. 6 in., native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, brown hair and eyes ; walks with a limp; addicted to the use of drags, and has scars on her arms caused by injections.

Auckland. 3oth ultimo, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife and four children, John Wilson, age sixty-two, height 5 ft. 3 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, grey hair going bald, blue eyes, grey moustache, right thumb deformed, bow-legged, scar on right side ; dressed in a blue-serge or dark-grey-tweed suit and light-grey hat ; Scotch accent. Accused found a letter (containing the cheque) which had been lost by complainant’s children. He cashed tho cheque in the shop of E. 0. Lightband. There are other charges pending. The bicycle was stolen from outside the Dominion Farmers’ Institute and sold to Fordham and Child, auctioneers, Cuba Street, for £2, by a man of the description given. No warrant.

Wellington. —2oth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Paparua Prison for three months in default of paying £2 12s. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Rosina Marriott Cooper, 9 Chatham Street, Berhampore, Albert Hunter Cooper, age fifty, height 5 ft. 9 in., bootmaker, dark complexion, blue eyes, portions of two left fingers missing, clean-shaved ; usually dressed in a navy-blue suit and gabardine overcoat; fond of drink.
