Melbourne. —12th April last, on warrant for false pretences, William Dent Janes, alias Oswald, alias Tomkies, age about thirty-seven, height about. 5 ft. 8 in., stout build, sallow complexion, fair hair byushvu baclt^ (slightly bald), clean-shaved, artificial teeth ; /Usually a grey suit, brown overcoat, and, Jelt/haw) Acims&F obtained £250 from Ivan/T’icroi Sam'ps<& investor, 246 £)andenong Road, East St. Knda. by falsely representing that he was in a position to sell a half-share in the Paisley Chemical Manufacturing Company, and that the business had stock worth £6OO and plant £350.
