PROPERTY STOLEN.

Auckland. —JESSIE ADAIR’S purse, &c., stolen : The suspect, Thomas Wilkinson, has been arrested for this offence by the Auckland police. His correct name is Thomas Langton Wilkinson. The articles have not been recovered. (See Police Gazette, 1924, page 253.)

Auckland. —29th April last, from a motor-car between Pukekohe and Auckland, the property of ALFRED BUCKLAND AND SONS, auctioneers, Albert Street, a grey-painted Dodge motor-car rim, fitted with a Royal Cord tire, 33 x 4, No. 215695, with a rubber tube ; value, £lO. Tire only identifiable.

Auckland. —Qn or about the 30th ultimo the dwelling of KATHLEEN NORDEN at 38 Hackett Street was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom : A ladies’ gold open-face wristlet watch, glass scratched, English numerals; a gold horse-shoe brooch, set with pearls, with “ Souvenir of Gratitude ”on back; a gold circular brooch, set with three amethysts (two missing); a gold Nellie Stewart bangle, with a clasp (safety-chain missing); a gold bamboo bangle; a gentlemen’s gold heavy ring, set with a garnet in claw setting ; a ladies’ gold rope pattern necklet; and a 9 ct. gold necklet: total value, £45 12s. Identifiable.

Auckland. —Between the Ist and 2nd ultimo, from a bedroom at the Market Hotel, the property of THOMAS LEONARD, farmer, Hauraki Plains, a gentlemen’s 18 ct. gold open-iace keyless watch with roman figures; and a 9 ct. gold fetter-and-oval large-link double watch-chain, with a 9 ct. gold cross with a shamrock and “ Thomas Leonard ” on it attached : total value, £53. Identifiable.

Auckland. —3rd instant, from a motor-car in Symonds Street, the property of JOHN ARCHIBALD NOONAN, timber-merchant, a white-metal motor-car mascot in the form of a nude woman with wings, representing Mercury, one foot broken ; value, £7 10s. Identifiable.

Auckland. —Between the sth and 7th ultimo, from a building in Yarborough Street, the property of SIMON GRIN, carpenter, 23 Sarsfield Street, a quantity of carpenter’s tools, including bits, planes, saws, a plumb-bob, and an oil-stone ; total value, £6 os. fid. Identifiable.

Freeman’s Bay.—Between the 26th and 28th April last, from the scow “ Portland ” at Henderson’s slip, the property of ANDREW" NELSON, a yacht-dinghy, 8 ft. long, painted white outside and brown inside, brass painter-ring on outside of bow ; value, £l2. Identifiable.

Hamilton. —PUKEMIRO COLLERIES money stolen : On the Bth instant a portion of the stolen money (£93 2s. 5d.) was found in a canvas bag under the mine-manager’s house. Amongst the recovered money were the £1 notes, Nos. C 748255, D 118024, D 460799, D 211689, and C 96972 9; also the two 10s. notes, Nos. A 699249 and A 901749. (See Police Gazette, 1924, page 253.)

Wanganui.—MASEMAWN AND FRASER'S and ALFRED JAMES WHYMAN’S premises broken into: William Morris has been arrested for those offences by the Wanganui police. (See Police Gazette, 1924, page 339.)

Hamilton. —26th ultimo, from a bedroom at the Grand Central Boardinghouse, the property of ISABELLA FOOTE, cook, a ladies’ gold open-face keyless wristlet watch, gold dial, roman figures; a nickel tube money-box, about If in. long, with “ Magic Pocket Savings Bank ” on it, with perforated holes and even numbers 4 to 18 on side, containing twenty sixpenny-pieces: total value, £5 11s. Watch only identifiable.

Napier.—CYßlL GLENDENNING and others, wateh, &c., stolen : The suspect, Pine Amine, alias Pene Downes, alias Henry Williams, has been charged with this offence by the Clive police. He was in possession of a Bengal razor, but owing to complainant’s inability to identify it the charge was dismissed. (See Police Gazette, 1924, page 291.)

Waipaxva.—Between the 22nd and 26th ultimo, from a whare on Te Hoke Station, the property of HARRY BRENTON, shepherd, a 9 ct. gold large-and-small-link watch-chain, with a gold medal with “ Christian Doctrine ” on it attached; a silver sovereign-case, containing a sovereign ; a gold shield, with “E. 8.” or “ E.P.8.” on it; and a gentlemen’s gold band ring, set with a ruby-: total value, £ls. Identifiable.

Masterton.—On the 3rd instant the shop of MARY JANE HAYES in Queen Street was broken into and set on fire, and the following articles stolen therefrom : A child's money-box (recovered); thirty packets of yellow Three Castles cigarettes; eight tins of blue Capstan tobacco ; an 18 ct. gold ring, set with five rubies in claw setting; a gold ring, set with a black opal in claw setting; a plaited gold chain pendant, set with a black opal; and £1 10s. : total value, £l7. Jewellery only identifiable.

Wellington. —On the 30th April last the dwelling of CHARLES CAMPERDOWN ODLIN at 272 The Parade, Island Bay, was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom : A ladies’ silver open-face small watch, chased back, gold hands, with a wrist-strap attached with spring clips ; a round tin money-box, 3 in. by 21 in ; a greysuede wallet, with “ Ingham A Co., Merchants, Sydney,” on inside ; and £5 : total value, £8 7s. 6d. Identifiable except money.

Wellington.— 29th April last, from outside the Knox Gymnasium, Lower Hutt, the property of CHARLES JAMIESON BELL, clerk, Park Avenue, Lower Hutt, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel 22 in. Hollis bicycle, No. 6100, reversible handles, Serang tires: value, £4 10s. Identifiable.

Wellington. —loth instant, from the Post Office Hotel, the property of JOHN IBBOTSON, ship’s officer, a blackfibre suit-case, containing a blue and four white ship’s officer’s uniforms ; three white and four striped cotton shirts, some with “ I.B.B.” and others with “ M.Z.” on them ; a quantity of underclothing ; and a black-leather wallet with “ Ivy B. to Jack ” on silver clasp, containing mercantile certificates and discharges in complainant’s name: total value, £25. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to D. McEwan, age about twenty-five, height 5 ft. 101 in., fireman, native of Scotland, medium build, fair hair and complexion ; dressed in a blue suit and patent-leather boots. He has been interviewed by the Wellington Police, but no evidence resulted.

Christchurch.-— lsth ultimo, from Cathedral Square, the property of CLARENCE KENDALL PHILLIPS, 59 Richardson Street, Opawa, a gentlemen’s blue-enamelled racing Ideal bicycle, No. 4718 ; value, £l4. Identifiable.

Christchurch. —4th March last, from outside the Public Library, the property of H. F. GIBBARD, 221 Cambridge Terrace, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled bicycle, No. 23810 ; value, £l2. Identifiable.

Identifiable except money.

Christchurch. —Between the 29th and 30th ultimo, the premises of FIELD AND ROYDS, grain-merchants, 200 Cashel Street, were broken into and four £SO notes stolen therefrom.
