Auckland. 2nd December last, for attempted theft from the person, Man (name unknown), age about twenty-five, height about 5 ft. 5 in., strong build, ruddy complexion, dark hair, largo nose, full round face ; dressed in a pepper-and-salt-coloured suit and grey cap with large peak. Whilst leaving the ferry-boat at the wharf accused attempted to steal from the coat-pocket of Stanley Gordon Hill. No warrant.

Auckland. 3lst ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Emma Rangi Green, 12 Beresford Street, Victor James Clarence Green, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. in., labourer, native of New Zealand, fair complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, small nose, clean-shaved, small scar on one hand. Arrears to 24th ultimo, £36.

Auckland. —lst ultimo, on warrant for false pretences, Roy Gault, age about thirty-two, height 6 ft. 1 in., painter, native of New Zealand, slight build, fair complexion and hair; well dressed in a brown suit and grey cap. Accused obtained £3 from Robert George Robertson, tobacconist, 143 Ponsonby Road, by falsely representing that his sister had died and he required the money to defray the burial expenses. Wellington.lst instant, on warrant for theft of £lO, the property of Ada Madson, boardinghouse-keeper, 89 Thorndon Quay, Samuel Paul, age thirty-five, height about 5 ft. 11 in., labourer and barman, slight build, dark complexion, dark hair, large brown eyes, some artificial upper front teeth, snake round woman and other tattooing on forearms ; shabbily dressed in a light-grey suit, cap, and tan boots. Accused, who was left for a week in charge of the boardinghouse during complainant’s absence, collected £lO from the boarders and disappeared. There are other charges pending.
