Officers of Police Force appointed. (See New Zealand Gazette, 1923, page 2951.) Police Department, , Wellington, 11th December, 1923. HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint
Inspector William Bernard Mcllveney, and Inspector Charles Robert Broberg to be Superintendents, Sub-Inspector Stephen Till to be an Inspector, and
Senior Sergeant Arthur Sydney Bird to be a Sub-Inspector, of the New Zealand Police Force, each appointment to take effect from Ist January, 1924. R. HEATON RHODES, for Minister of Justice.
Memorandum.] British Empire Exhibition. As the above Exhibition which is to be held next year will no doubt attract criminals from overseas, it is requested that a report be at once furnished to this office when it is known that any criminal is leaving here for England. This refers ' particularly to confidence tricksters, cardsharpers, or hotel thieves, and the report should disclose their modus operandi. *

Motor Regulation Act, 1908.
The distinguishing numerals assigned to the Heathcote County Council under the Motor Regulation Act, 1908, have been extended to “ 1090.” The list published in Police Gazette, 1923, page 219, is to be amended accordingly.
